I am using The journalist v.1.9 as theme and on the homepage of the blog http://sanshiru.wordpress.com/ it cuts of the post where I use the nextpage tag and doesn't show the page count on the bottom. When I click the name of the post it does show the pages.
When I leave the nextpage command away it will show the complete posts on the homepage of my blog.
One of the posts I am referring to is Irony of New Year's Eve 2009 - 2010.
Is that working as designed or is it a bug?

I'm using Chrome on Vista SP2, but the same problem I have with FireFox and IE.
Thanks guys and girls :)

I sign into my blog from two accounts - in essence, I am two different authors. I set both accounts to Publicize blog posts to Twitter. From both accounts, I can click on the "publicize" button and customize what I think is going to be the Tweet. But I find that, no matter what I do, only posts from one account are sent to Twitter. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I'm looking for some blog help! Apparently people have been trying to comment on my blog, but the site won't let them.
Here's the most recent email I received explaining:
Everytime I try to comment on your blog, I get an error message and your site freezes up.

How do I fix this?!

Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone can help me with a question that just came to my mind when I received my first spam.
It was a comment with nothing but tags for one of the poems I put on my blog. When I checked where it came from I was redirected to another blog on which the owner simply posted the link to my post in addition with lots of tags, but no additional comments.

Now the question is: Can I do anything against people using my articles, linking to them in their very own blogs on WP, just to receive traffic? And does anyone know by any chance, if I can do anything against blogs like that on other blogging sites or even against people who own that domain?

Don't get me wrong I don't mind people referring to my posts at all, but I do mind if in their posts is nothing but the link so it looks pretty much like they cannot come up with something to say and instead use other people's work to receive hits.

Thanks a lot in advance :)

All of a sudden, Google Ads for various products have started appearing in all of my posts. This hasn't happened before and I did NOT sign up for any service or plug-in. The advertising that is appearing is in every post on my blog - this seems much in excess of Wordpress's commitment to keep advertising limited. Also, would ads placed by Wordpress show up as "Ads by Google"?

It seems like there is some technical problem here. I saw the option to sign up for ad-free service, but I wondered if anyone is else having this problem, or have any suggestion?

Something has gone very wrong with the display of video -- at least it has today on my blog.

After uploading a video, you're supposed to have the option of whether or not to allow embedding, whether or not to display the title of the video in the first frame when it plays, and the ability to choose which frame you want to appear on screen before the video starts. All of these features have always worked for me in the past, but all of a sudden today, NONE of them are working. This problem affects only new postings of video, NOT video that has already been posted, although if you try to select any of these options for posting of video that you've previously uploaded, the options will also not work. Regardless of what settings you choose, embedding cannot be removed, the title is displayed over the first frame, and the default screen shot picked at random by Wordpress Video is what's being displayed when the video isn't playing, rather than the thumbnail chosen by the blogger.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Ok, I need some help.

I have been noticing for the past three days that my blog won't fully load. It gets about 95-98% loaded, but then stops loading - the "My Dashboard" and such toolbar on top of the page doesn't ever appear. Because of this, I can't seem to correctly post things.

I look down at the bottom of my Firefox browser, and some times I see this: Read i2.ytimg.com or something else. I've looked on the web for solutions, but haven't found anything really helpful.

I currently restrict access to family and friends for posts on a blog about my daughter. But I have to constantly redo this for every single post I make. This is annoying and I have forgotten, only to notice it days or weeks later. Ugh.

I would like:
A) a way to make the entire site password protected. Just like I can with posts, but lock down the whole site from casual browsing. Plus, I set it up once and the site remains locked down, and I can change out the password any time I think the password has spread too far. I would LOVE to find out how to do this. Right now, changing the password on hundreds of posts is neigh impossible with the time left to me with two kids.

B) a way to establish a default post password and have every post default to having the password turned ON instead of having to do this manually every single time. Hey, we use computers. This sort of "defaulting" ought to be easy.

The reason I want this is because doing it manually every time is laborious and error prone. Plus, it's clunky for visitors to see a page filled with password blanks the first time they visit. Sure, they all go away once a password is accepted, but it's not a pretty sight. Plus it seems to reset itself every couple weeks so they keep seeing this again and again. It reflects poorly on me and I think WordPress can do better than that.

The second reason is that I have looked at the one option WordPress currently offers to lock down the blog and it is unacceptable. It would require every user to create a WordPress account with a user name and password, have e-mail to receive confirmation, and they they have to remember BOTH things whenever they want to visit the site. Plus I have to manually enter them as users, which then gives them far more capabilities than just reading. It's terribly cumbersome for our older readers, who have trouble remembering the one password we ave now, and getting THAT entered correctly. Forcing them to create accounts to view the blog is not an option.

How can I lock down my blog with one password?

Help! I used to have a blog through wordpress but stupidly deleted it. I have set up a new one with a different url. I thought this was what was being referred to when the faq's talked about not being able to use the name again. Now I realize (of course) that it was referring to the actual blog name. I used the same one that I had before so now google is bringing up the old blog instead of the new one. All that is shown is "this blog has been deleted." I went to "my blogs" under the dashboard but can't find a way to alter the name. Is there any way for me to change the name of the blog but keep all the work I have already done. Any remedy.....?

Hi,

I've been blogging for a year and take the layout and content of the blog very seriously. The other night, I uploaded a scenic photo of countryside in London, UK. I uploaded it as a custom header and it seemed to work, but when I brought up the blog on a different computer the following morning, the header wouldn't show. Viewing the blog on a third computer confirmed this. The original Misty theme had disappeared as well and it took some time before I could go back to the original settings.

Any ideas how I can set the photo as a header?

I have created a wordpress blog to promote my green business. I understand that I could not place links to my business website unless I got a hosted site with a wordpress partner. I purchased the domain and hosting from go daddy. Am I in the clear now? Can I put links to my green business on my blog? If not, what do I still have to do?

I just purchased domain mapping for $9.97 and there was no receipt page to print, nor did I receive a receipt by email.

I searched the forums and support--and found nothing.

I looked through "My Account" and "My Dashboard" but there's nothing there.

Please let me know how to get a receipt. Thanks.

Is there any way to change a theme using FTP instead of Wordpress? Everything was working good, and I was trying different themes out whenever I ran upon one called "Aesthete": http://wp-themes.com/aesthete/?TB_iframe=true&width=600&height=400

Now when I go to my blog I get the following error:
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/paulf5/public_html/wp-content/themes/aesthete/functions.php on line 35"

I wrote the author of that theme and was told:
"It looks like you are using PHP4.
The theme requires PHP5 at the moment. I'll try to make it compatible to PHP4 in next version."

That's great and all, but now I can't even access Wordpress to change the theme back to one that was working.

How would I reset the theme to back to the default using FTP?

I'm thinking about adding domain mapping to my wordpress.com account. The problem is that my current address, the one that ends in wordpress.com, has been around a long time, gets good results at Google and is well known to a lot of people. Will that be preserved? If my current name is splicehere.wordpress.com and I add somethingelse.com, what happens when somebody goes to splicehere.wordpress.com? Does it continue to work?

Thanks very much to anybody who can help.

I tired to authorize Twitter to publicize my blog through the My Blogs admin window. It seemed to work at first. But, when I returned to WordPress it said that there was a problem authorizing it and I should try it again. However, when I try to re-authorize, I now get this message from Twitter:
"Woah there!
This page is no longer valid. It looks like someone already used the token information you provided. Please return to the site that sent you to this page and try again … it was probably an honest mistake."

I have pretty much given up, and I'll be moving my Wordpress.com blog somewhere else. The site is so slow most of the time, then it comes up all distorted with no graphics like now. It took me over 2 minutes to get even this to load. I have a newer laptop...there is no excuse for this. I fight this site all the time, and it's just not worth it anymore. I've done everything I can with popup and ad blockers, and every other suggestion that has been made to me to solve this problem. Obviously, it's a site problem, as I don't have it anywhere else. I hate to be leaving Wordpress, but I don't have time to play waiting games for a blog I can't monetize or use my domain name with.

Thanks for everything. I'll miss the way the site worked when I first came here, but I won't miss this. Now, let's see how long this takes to post...IF it does at all.
