I notice that my images will sometimes line up where I ask them to and other times they do not. I have a heck of a time getting text to flow just above or just below the images when they are anything other than flush left, so I just don't even bother anymore.

Does anyone else have trouble with making the text keep double paragraph spacing? It works in some posts and others it does not. I think it makes it easier to read, otherwise I indent the first word in each paragraph.

I don't have a solution, but I have noticed that photo alignments work perfectly in one template (Ocean Mist; see ramblinrobert.wordpress.com) but not in another template (Connections; see urbanagroecology.wordpress.com). In the latter, using the generated code the images seem to be inserted inline with text instead of aligning and wrapping correctly. I suspect this could be fixed in some part of the CSS code if someone has access and knowledge to do that. Note that the paragraph alignment workaround doesn't work in Connections either.

stoprobbers - can you provide the URL (including http://) to your blog, and an example of where you're seeing the problem? It's hard to determine why something is happening without looking at it...

Does anyone know why the order of the photos added to the blog might be messed up? When me and my blogging partner try to upload photo essays, the newest photo is always jumping to the top. With the old upload program there were ways around it, and when they switched upload screens it seemed to have been resolved. But we have 10+ picture photo essays to put up, and this massive amount of copying and pasting is seriously the biggest pain in the butt ever. WTF?

@aribabybug-make sure you empty your browser's cache and refresh your published page before viewing.

If that isn't working, when you reupload your image, make sure your rename your image to something else than the first uploaded image. If it is the same name, the old image is still the one referred to as it's stuck in WordPress' servers.

I'm having a similar problem. My images, when I add them, are so large that some of the image is covered up by the sidebar, I've tried resizing the images in wordpress and I've also resized them elsewhere, re-uploaded them to my hosting website, and then re-linked to them. After I do this, everything looks fine in my dashboard, but as soon as I click publish and go take a look, the images are enormous again. I added pictures to a page a week or so ago and everything fit ok. How can I fix this?

No, it's been gone for a month. Now you use the Upload Media button ABOVE the post box.

There's no error message, but there just isn't the dialogue box at the bottom of the page that used to let me browse and select a file for uploading

aaronhh - I know you mean to be funny, but the fact is that posts like this only gives the impression that you are arrogant and anal. And adding "hehe LOL" doesn't remedy that. I Hope that helps.

antupc - I am afraid I don't have a good suggestion to solve your problem, other that the standard logout, empty cache and cookies, and check your blog while not logged in. Maybe you could give us a link you your blog too?

$15 gets you the domain and domain mapping. If you buy your domain elsewhere, you only pay WordPress $10 for domain mapping.

Thanks for your replies. I realised that the CSS upgrades does not allow u to ad in javascript as well. I guess I should jus go ahead and get my own domain then:) and proabably use WordPress.org to setup. I'm afraid of the tedious stuff I got to do to setup my own website. I hope WordPress.org is easy to use.

Quick answer from a fellow idiot:

You might have to do a space upgrade in order to be able to upload that type of file. I ran into that problem a while back when I tried to upload a certain type of file, but it wasn't important enough to me to pay $15 bucks a year for a space upgrade.

oxistilogokrisia, What you want to do requires a little bit of HTML knowledge, or you can trick WordPress into helping you with the HTML code that you need. I recommend creating a temporary unpublished page where you upload the pictures to the blog image gallery, and then display them on the page at the size that you are going to want them in the side bar, and then click on the HTML tab and copy the HTML code and use that HTML code in a "TEXT" sidebar.

I hate to be Captain Obvious, Defender of the Already Known, but the WordPress Image software is LOADED with bugs, and problems. I'm constantly getting hung up so I have to re-upload stuff, and delete all my cookies, and log out and log back in and rename stuff and all sorts of other repeated acrobatics in order to get images to FINALLY display on the page in the simple way that I intended. I sure wish the WordPress Programmers would spend more time debugging the image software so that it functions on the same level as most of the other wordpress software. ::sigh:: But it is still a great deal for $10 bucks a year domain hosting! :-)

Okay, first of all, you can export all of the information on your blog for free.

Second of all, I'm sure WordPress is completely flattered and speechless that you would rather keep a blog name with wordpress in the title than paying $10 dollars per year for your very own domain name.

Third of all, have you considered paying the $15 dollar Cascading Style Sheet Upgrade which would give you a lot of additional control over the format of your existing blog?

Fourth of all, have you considered WordPress.org??? It requires a little more knowledge and a lot more patience, and you have to host it on your own server, but I'm pretty sure that you will have all of the flexibility that you want with the free blogging software at http://www.WordPress.org But this option would probably not allow you to keep the coveted 'wordpress" name in your blog url. hehe LOL :-)

Are you sure about that, RainCoaster? $15 dollars? If that is true, then I am a big dummy for paying $10 dollars to purchase my domains from an outside domain seller and then getting that domain hosted here on WordPress.com

Notice, HMEL, how I didn't mention the name of the outside domain seller, because that would be spamming. Although, in this case I suppose it would be a bit of a reverse psychology spam. (if there is such a thing)
