Anytime we talk about money, I'd rather have folks go directly to staff because I would hate to have something come back on us here as none of us here in teh forums have offical status.

I thought you could modify it once you got over to Paypla but looks like you can't. I'd go ahead and send in an email to support at this domain and ask staff as I'm at a loss on this one.

I want to give 10 credits to another wordpress.com user. At the moment I have 0 credit. If I go to the give credits page, it only allows me to buy minimum $15. I know you can buy 10 credits while purchasing domain upgrade, but how else can you do it?

The sidebar looks fine for me in IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2.gdr.050301.1519 (I really wish I could copy and paste that) at 1280 x 1024. 99% of the time, a dropped sidebar is either because you have a picture that's too wide or you have an open HTML tag somewhere that's throwing things off.

Just found this thread on Safari and TinyMCE. Looks like Safari does not support WYSIWYG completely and TinyMCE is having issues with it (Note the topic number over there. Kind of fits.)

No offense! I'm quite capable of missing something obvious and I'm hoping for some simple explanation. Unfortunately, I have updated the profile. I also pressed shift+reload as suggested in the faq and that didn't help either.

Could this be a safari thing? I also have IE but wordpress comes up as such a mess (sidebar is unreadable) and I can't see the editor there, either.

Um, are you clicking on the "Update Profile" button as well? I know it sounds silly but 1) you don't mention that you are and 2) We've had people not doing that in the past. No offense intended of course. :)

You may also want to read through this FAQ and see if that helps.

No, there's no bar across the top, just an empty post box under Post. :(

I'm a new to wordpress.com and I love it. But, I have the "Use the visual rich editor when writing" box checked, and I have never seen the WYSIWYG. I am using the Regulus theme, Mac O/S 10.4.6, and Safari 2.0.3.

If you haven't noticed, it appears that we all share categories. There's a thread here somewhere with a blogger who modified the name of a category that they used and the visible name was changed but the underlieing name wasn't. It still pointed to the old category.

I think so that they can use their global tags system, they keep the categories global as well. That category must have been deleted for some reason. *shrug*

I'd just go ahead and recreate it if ytou haven't already.

As to the "seeing it from school" issue, you might have been behind some sort of proxy. I know when I sit here at this library, we are. It's a pain for game playing. :)

what do you know? the category was removed! or rather the posts were removed from the category which is why it's not showing... strange, how did i see four categories in comp lab two days ago then? maybe i need some more glasses... thanks for your help again

i'm more curious as to how i can view all four categories in my college comp lab but not my own pc. i'll probably send feedback if i still don't see the fourth category once i put the latest post in it. thanks for all your suggestions

I'm only showing three categories as well when I look at the blog.

What's also strange is that some of the posts are not showing the categories at all when you click through to the full view. For example, this post

Sulz, go ahead send in a feedback on this so they can open a ticket. I have a feeling that your db is corrupted in some way. Either that or your 4th category has been removed. I can't see the theme being messed up as other users would be complaining. Don't really know since I don't have backend access. Make sure you point them at this thread.

As to the updating suggestion, we normally have people posting in here complaining about how their categories don't update right away after they post. That's why the cache was mentioned. But it's more like every 15 minutes, not days.

I had the same problem, like drmike said the Categories listings don't update automatically. Just takes time.

it's been one day since i have the problem. in my college comp lab, i could see all four categories. but at the comp in my house, only three appears. strange... but it's alright then thanks for your post

- Make sure that you've made a post in the category in question.

- Wait. The category listing is actually cached and only updates every few minutes. Updates and changes are not seen automatically.

Honest answer, I would rather be safe than sorry. I'd send in a feedback and straight out ask them if what you're doing is allowed. I know I allow adult sites within my hosting but they have to be declaired first and I have no problem with sites like you're doing. (My largest client is an adult content provider and we also have affiliate programs with a couple of others.) I do a lot of girl scout troop sites and I deal with too many churches. They don't like being on the same IPs with adult sites. (They're on the same boxes, just not the same IPs.)

OK, well there's no terms of service, no clear definition of what constitutes a 'splog' and no list of what content is considered acceptable and unacceptable. So basically all you can do is use your own judgment when posting stuff. If it gets deleted, then you'll know it's not allowed. If it doesn't, then presumably it is. (Unless you just got lucky and nobody spotted it.)

I've only turned in one adult site myself and had a chat with donncha about it. Adult pic sites are allowed. They just get tagged as mature, won't show up in the wp-admin referres, recent posted, top blog lists, or the fastest growing lists within the dashboard.

Asainboys wasn't on my reported list. Don't know about any others.

May I add on to this thread?

After reading these posts, I realized I have been doing something that I shouldn't be doing! I created affiliate links to porn sites, and recently I posted 50% of my posts with such links. I didn't know it is not allowed :S

When my blog (not this account) got suspended, I was worried sick. Did someone complained about my blog? Did WP.com turn me in? I am not worried about losing the blog - more like afraid of police knocking on my door.

Oho, found the problem - it was not that I was using two different connections, but two different computers. The one on the slow line had a script blocker turned on. Works like crazy now - loving it!
