http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/redirecting-your-blog/

Search Engines
Google:
1. Verify both domains with Google Webmaster Tools, and use the 'Change of address'-function to notify Google of the new address.
2. Change your privacy settings so that the wordpress.com blog is no longer indexed by Google and other search engines.
3. Use the URL Removal' tool in Google Webmaster Tools to delete the indexed wordpress.com pages from Google.
Others:
Use #2 above, which will take longer, of course.

Hello fellow WordPress bloggers!
What's up?

I'm sure a lot of you know me. The 12 year old entrepreneur who created LaptopMemo, the Gadget Reviews & News blog. Right now a lot of you probably see that I haven't reviewed anything for a while, but don't worry, I'll be serving up a storm soon:)

What I need help with is 2 different things.

First, I will be moving my blog to wordpress.org soon, and I know how to do that, except that I wondered if when people go to http://www.laptopmemo.wordpress.com, could they automatically be transferred to http://www.laptopmemo.com.

Second, is how can I get the search engines to ignore the .wordpress.com URL and go on with the laptopmemo.com URL?

Thanks Everyone!

Happy blogging from Stef
