I poltely point out that you may have missed reading the thread you posted it as your answers are located up above.

Your bf is using the normal downloadable version of WordPress while we use WordPress Multiuser here. It is different code and with different features. You would have to have your own WordPress blog hosted elsewhere to use Google Analytics/ Urchin.

Please also note that it's not that great as it requires your visitors to be running JavaScript when they view a site and have the script fully load. You get much better results and data with other tools like AWStats that directly read the webserver's datafiles. Very few of my hosting clients use Google Analytics/ Urchin as the numbers are off compared to what the other data records show.

My boyfreind has a blog hosted through a spin off of Word Press, but still uses word press to log on ect. (intopr.pr.blogs.org.) When he goes to sign in it is a wordpress site and he is able to use google analytics he has a plug in section. Since that is the case can we utilize this great tool?

Ed, it's a matter between security and features. Matt and crew have stated many times that security will always come first here. Allowing javascripts allow the blogs and servers to be hacked. This has been covered many times in the past both here and in the FAQ blog along with examples of where sites have been hacked due to Javascript use.

Of course, if you think having security for your site "sucks"....
