Is it possible to hide or remove the words "Fonts on this Blog" in the footer?

Leaving everything else is understandable, but these words look like a mistake?

Thanks,

Aha, I see. Thanks for clarifying. That's the email icon inside the sharing feature. You don't need to edit HTML or CSS in order to remove it.

Go to Settings → Sharing in your blog dashboard and look for the "Sharing Buttons" section. Find the Email button in Enabled Services and drag it into the Available Services area above.

Note that you don't have any sharing buttons besides email setup. If you don't want to display any sharing buttons, you can uncheck all of the options in the "Show buttons on" section on the Settings → Sharing page and the sharing buttons won't show up at all.

To learn more about the sharing options, see http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/

There are two problems with the code you posted.

First, you must put parentheses around the link in the background line, like this:

background: url(YOUR_IMAGE_URL);

Second, you need a working image link. It appears you may have uploaded an image, but then you deleted it from your media library: http://millgrovewoodproductsltd.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/millgrove-logo-saw-blade-and-log-100.gif?w=32

Let's start with the image. I looked in your media library and I found this image:
http://millgrovewoodproductsltd.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/millgrove-logo-saw-blade-and-log-100.png

Try copying and pasting the following code exactly into your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page. Make sure the parentheses are still there after you save changes.

#site-title span a {
padding-right: 70px;
background: url(http://millgrovewoodproductsltd.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/millgrove-logo-saw-blade-and-log-100.png?w=60) no-repeat right;
}

The link you listed here is no longer a working image link. It looks lik you uploaded an image but then you deleted it. Can you please try the following?

1. Go to Media → Add New in your blog

2. Either drag the millgrove-logo-saw-blade-and-log-100.gif image from your desktop or file manager into the area inside the dashed line to upload it or click the Select Files button and find the millgrove-logo-saw-blade-and-log-100.gif image on your hard drive and select and upload it.

3. Copy the Image URL that shows up after the image is uploaded.

4. Use the Image URL from step 3 in the CSS posted above: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/adding-a-gif-to-the-right-of-the-main-title?replies=16#post-825671

If the image doesn't look good resized, you can try adding a query string to the end of the link such as ?w=32

It should look something like this except with a different file name and you can choose a different size other than 32 that works best for your image.

http://millgrovewoodproductsltd.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/millgrove-logo-saw-blade-and-log-100.gif?w=32

If you're not sure how to add a query string, post your Image URL in a reply here and we'll show you an example for how it works.

You are on the right track, the reason those examples didn't work is because, in this case, there is some more specific CSS which sets the paragraph color and it is overriding the CSS you tried. To make your rule more specific, try the following:

.commentlist .children > li.bypostauthor .comment-content p {
color: #6D8A24;
}

Note that this will change any *paragraphs* in comment content by the post author. If you would also like to change the comment author text and links*, you would want to do something like this instead:

.commentlist .children > li.bypostauthor .comment-content p, .commentlist .children > li.bypostauthor .comment-author, .commentlist .children > li.bypostauthor .comment-author a {
color: #6D8A24;
}

* You might not want to change the comment author links, in which case you would want to remove the ", .commentlist .children > li.bypostauthor .comment-author a " part of the rule above.

designsimply,

Before I could come back and post, I saw your reply. I figured it out (author name part) myself and fixed it..

This was the culprit, it was set to display: none earlier

.commentlist .children li.comment .fn {
display:inline;
}

Thanks a bunch!

This depends quite a lot on the theme, but it's probably possible. To make sure I understand, are you trying to change the entire top navigation menu in the Twenty Eleven theme from horizontal to vertical? Or just the submenus that appear below the menu when you hover?

If you are trying to change the whole menu, I would recommend creating a custom menu that is not set as primary and adding it to the sidebar through Appearance → Widgets.

If you want to make the dropdown submenus in Twenty Eleven horizontal instead of vertical, that might take a bit of work and it wouldn't be flexible because you would need to set the widths of some of the elements exactly in order to make it work. Try this CSS as an example starting point:

#access ul ul {
width: 300px;
}
#access ul ul li, #access ul ul a {
width: 100px;
min-width: 100px;
float: left;
}

For complimentsfromsarah:

I am trying to remove the main page menu border, the gradient when the menu page is highlighted and the rectangle surrounding the sub menu pages when the main menu item is highlighted.

http://complimentsfromsarah.com/ is using the Twenty Eleven theme. I don't see a border on the menu or the highlighting for menu items when they are hovered over or selected. It looks like you were able to sort this out on your own, and if you'd be willing to post back with the CSS you used, it would be great to have it listed with your question here in the forums.

2) Is there a way to put content of links widget into the custom menu somehow?

Possibly, yes. However, I would recommend adding the links to the custom menu directly. You can do it with a custom menu item: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
