Likes are not page views. In fact, likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like" and "share" your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat. See here for what I do to compel readers to read posts on my site > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/07/09/wordpress-followers-likes-and-stats

I'm trying to figure out how to use Google Authorship with my WordPress blog. I have a Google+ account from which I have done a custom link to my About page with a refer back to the Google+ account from the About page. I'm not sure what esle I'm supposed to be doing to to enable Google Authorship. I know this isn't an entirely WordPress question, but I really want to add that little picture to my search results. Does anyone have any tricks or tips on how to do this? Do I need to be Pro and have a plug-in to do it, or can I do it with my free WordPress account?

No you cannot. It takes ignoring several warnings that state deletion of a blog URL is permanent and cannot be reversed, and then clicking a verification link in an email to delete a blog. It does not matter whether or not you registered that URL. The deleted URL is forever gone and deleted blog URLs are not recycled here, regardless of which username account registered and deleted them. You can confirm by reading:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

However, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

You were asked only for an email address to create a username account. You provided any other information voluntarily and you can remove it and also replace the email address at any time.

Provided you are logged in under the Admin username account you can delete any blog registered under that username by using these instructions. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
Deleted blog URLs are not recycled http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

Although username accounts are not deleted, so you cannot be impersonated and have your reputation affected by anyone registering the same username in the future, there are steps you can take that amount to removing all personal information and result in leaving only a throwaway email address behind. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.

2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:
http://wordpress.com/#!/following/subsettings/

3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html

IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting a blog or blog content does not remove any indexed content from appearing in the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 - 6 months.

After you do that if you cannot locate a verification email, look in your email client spam/junk mail filter for the email with the blog deletion verification link in it and click that link. If clicking it does not work then copy and paste the link into your upper browser bar and click.

The answer is "no". Think about this please. Without logging in under a registered username account how would the software know who is not a hacker but is a person who has permission to view the blog?
