The blog address is cndoscotland.wordpress.com.

In the meantime I've had a reply back from a 'WordPress Happiness Engineer' stating that I can reset the password, but I already have a working password it's the 2nd step of the verification process that I can't get past.

Really hoping a Mod or staff member can take a second to have a look at this problem, even if it means the account isn't recoverable then I can at least start to develop an alternative blog instead.

Thanks

This question pertains to our blog at cndoscotland.wordpress.com not this account, I had to create a new account so I could post this.

On April 23 I enabled 2 step verification on our WordPress.com blog but accidentally deleted the Authenticator app from my iPad which has prevented me from accessing our WordPress account since.

I realised what I had done straight away and submitted the 'Account Recovery Form' on the same day (April 23) with full details, including a Transaction ID. I requested for the 2 step verification to be lifted so I could gain access to the account again.

Can anyone confirm what the normal time-scale for requests of this nature to be completed are, and even if it's possible for 2 step verification to be deactivated in this way ,or is the account lost?

Many thanks

Andrew Strachan

Usually when you specify a UK number in international format you drop the initial zero, so the fictitious number 01234 567890 would be written as +44 1274 567890. However the layout of the settings page shows two fields; Country and Mobile Phone Number. The "country" dropdown has values like "(+44) United Kingdom".

It is not clear whether the phone number field should include the initial zero or not; and the validation allows either to be entered. There is also no facility to send a test message.

Should I include the initial zero in the phone number field?

Hi! I would dearly love to be able to talk to a support person about trying to reclaim an account that I believe I previously had a few months to a year ago. I have tried and tried with absolutely no success with the account recovery screen. (Granted it doesn't help that I no longer have the email account that WP was connected to.) It delightfully tells me the user name does not exist, which on another screen it tells me that it is, my email is invalid, and so on and so forth. I am not a crook. I am not a spammer or any other "devious" sort, I would just like to get back into it. Thanks!
