Usernames are never "reserved" only the blogs matching usernames are reserved. When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.

I was wondering how long a blog will wait to get activated before it becomes available again for someone else to take. Does it just sit unclaimed forever, or does it actually get "released" after a certain amount of time if it's never activated?
