Thank you, designsimply. I appreciate your help. I was hoping to avoid the reader having to go back to the top to leave a comment. I am not sure where the link would be most accessible and visible but will likely leave it at the top, trusting that the theme designer knows better than me!

@marshmk, that's correct: you can use CSS to move existing elements around on a page but you cannot add new dynamic content or create new links using CSS only.

Here is an example that will move the 'Leave a reply' or '# Replies' link to the bottom of posts in the Twenty Twelve theme in case it's useful to anyone who doesn't mind moving the link instead of creating a new one:

.site-content article {
	position: relative;
}
.site-content .entry-header .comments-link {
	position: absolute;
	bottom: 0;
}

I have recently been told this cannot be done with CSS. The link at the top of the post can be moved to the bottom but an additional link cannot be added. That would, I was told, require moving to wordpress.org.

I am using the Twenty Twelve theme. I would like to include a "Leave a Reply" link at the bottom of the post after the date. Can this be done with CSS? If so, what is the code?

I added the link manually in the HTML section, copying the code from another page where the highlight+add link had worked. I'm not sure why it's taking me to posts but, this gets around it. Thanks.

When I try to add a link to a post, as soon as I click Add Link to confirm it takes me to the Posts page. I'm highlighting a section of text, clicking the Link button, typing in the URL and a title, then clicking confirm, and every time I end up in posts with no link added.

Am I missing something obvious?

I'm sorry but as all blogs on this multiuser blogging platform wearing the same theme are using the same template we cannot access metadata at all. Only Staff can access those files and edit and every edit they make affects all blogs wearing the same theme. Hence the badge with a link is what's left for you to use.

I just tried this in my test blog using Sandbox 10 (no CSS changes—I know 0 about CSS), and it worked fine. Here are details about how to do it:

With some themes, using a standard link in the title of a page (with your desired text as the anchor) will do what you'd like. I don't know if your theme will do it, but it's worth a try.

I found a workaround though..
I uploaded the file, navigated to it, copy-pasted the URL,
and added it in the HTML editor to the text by using the "link" button. (since the visual editor didn't respond).
but I would appreciate a reference to the directions for doing right the whole process..

We cannot help without a link to your blog, starting with http, and the filename as well, URL for it if you have that, too.
