To add new pages go to your Dashboard and click Pages-->Add New. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

To link to Catagory archives, click on the Catagory, grab the address bar link, and add it as a custom link in a Custom Menu.

I simply wish to create new pages via the main menu across the top. For example, when you click on "Antiques" at the top of the main page, you go to a new page that I can edit and add new "Antiques" in our store. Plain and simple ... about 6 to 10 pages maximum and each one I can edit and add and delete stuff, etc.
I am sure this is basic but I have tried every imaginable way via the Dashboard to no avail. ALl it does is give me "new posts" on the main page which I do not want. Even with the "WIdgets" it's not adding new content to the linkable "categories" I've created a the top. I am sure this is easy and I am just missing it.

This is not an either or situation at all. Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we bloggers create are static. They do not automatically update and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/ in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top.

Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic continually updating categories pages created by the software into the custom menu.

I'm just getting started on my art site on WordPress and I'm not sure if I should use categories, or pages. I have six different categories for my paintings, is it best to list them as posts with six different categories, or would it be better to create a new page for each category and have six pages? I deleted the blog tab, so that all the images wouldn't be loaded at one time, on one page.

If you haven't already done so then you need to assign those posts to a Category. Then you need to create a custom menu, to which you'll add that category.

How do I get posts to appear on other pages of my blog, depending on their category? I want posts that fall under certain categories to automatically appear on certain pages of my blog. For instance, I write a poem as a new post, and I want it to automatically appear on a page called 'Beautiful Words'; the next day I find an inspiring quote and want it to automatically appear on a page called 'Faith'. Is this possible with the free edition of this website? Thank you!

I want to add PayPal. I have set up an account and "TRIED" to follow the instructions. I have the "code" for PayPal and tried inserting into a URL, but it will not appear on my website.

Okay so I go to the menus option area and add the pages and categories to that menus (for sports I added the sports page and the sports category and called the menu "Sports"), I did that but the thing that confused me is I have like 5 pages and my theme only supports 2 menus. So how am I suppose to get each page have their own categories when I can only have 2 menus?

I made sure a post was own the "Sports" category but the page is not showing up the post I tagged.
Am I doing something wrong?

Among the most common misconceptions is that bloggers fail to understand that the static Pages they create do not automatically update. I was wondering if I could get it setup where certain pages have certain posts, and the home page has all the featured articles and recent posts. But then when you click on a different category you are brought to posts related to that page you clicked on.

I can't seem to figure out how to do that.

We can set only one interface language here > Settings > General for our blogs. You can write a blog post in the two languages and then post the two versions of the entry on the same blog, make each language category, create a custom menu and add the categories pages to it.

I would like to give my readers the option to choose between two languages on my blog by clicking. What is the simplest way to do that ? I will be doing the translation so I just need an option to appear on the blog where you can select the language.

I'm looking to categorize the posts I make into different tabs, but I still want them to show up on my home page. Would I just make a bunch of pages of the categorize I want on the top of my page and then copy a post in to it?

Okay, I realize my mistake. When i first set up my blog I didn't understand the difference between menus and tabs -- and had several menus to choose from. Though the correct menu was active, I was editing the wrong menu.

I'm currently doing it on my site with the Cheviot Hills posts, but I can't seem to get the emergency preparedness posts to create a Category page. I'm stumped.

My blog has pages so when I select a category, the posts also post to the category page (that shows up on the menu). Sadly, I can't remember how I did this.
I am currently uploading earthquake safety videos and I want them to appear on their own category page as well. I just can't seem to create a category page.
