What do you want to add from Google+? It is already one of the standard services under Sharing.

You can't add plugins to a WordPress.com blog.

You can't edit the php or theme code of a WordPress.com blog.

Even the Pro upgrade doesn't allow that. It allows you to edit only the CSS of an existing theme here.

Please familiarize yourself with the difference between WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG. It looks like you have expectations of a .org site here at .com and that's just not going to work.

I'm not sure if you can do this with wordpress.com hosted blogs. When you read the instructions, they were probably talking about how to add Google+ to self-hosted wordpress.org blogs. You would probably have to purchase the Custom Design upgrade (US $30) to be able to do this, and I don't have any experience with the CD upgrade so I don't even know if it's possible.

However, you can add Google+ to your individual posts by going to Settings>Sharing. There you can enable sharing services like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc. and display it beneath each post. It's not exactly what you were wanting to do, but it will still add Google+ to your blog, just not to the header.

If I want to add say google + to my blog it gives me instructions of how to copy and paste the code into my header for example. Within my simple blog where can you change code? I don't have editor, plugins, or anything. I see how I can upgrade to a professional site, but is there no way to go behind the scenes and change things like I did with my old blogspot.com in <change design>...<html> for example.

I am trying to enter code for stumbledupon onto my blog, but am terribly confused. The directions from stubledupon are for WordPress blogs ONLY and are quoted below: "Edit single.php of your WordPress theme.
Find the following line (or similar line, depending on your theme file) in single.php or theloop.php:
<?php the_content("<p class=serif>Read the rest of this entry</p>"); ?>
Immediately after the line, add the code above:
Save and upload single.php back to your WordPress theme folder."

How can I get to the "edit single.php" of my wordPress theme?

Thank you!
