Domain name propagation takes time and can take up to 72 hours though it rarely does.

I'm trying to eliminate the ".wordpress.com" that repopulates the address bar after I type in my organization's correct url (www.ndfwinc.org). It routes properly, just reads incorrectly. We mapped it to our domain already, but the suffix is still wrong. It happens on all browsers I use (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE9). I want folks to be able to copy and paste the correct url into emails, etc. once we launch this, so I really need the correct suffix (".org") up there.
Can I fix this, or is this something only my web host can fix?
I appreciate any advice you can offer!

There has to be a root blog you domain map from and there has to be a domain you map to. When the domain name change has propagated throughout the internet visitors will see only the domain URLs. You on the admin side of your blog will see the root .wordpress.com com blog URLs. That's normal like I explained in my example using my own blog in the other thread.

Yet when I go into my IE web browser address bar and type in "sarahsaysread.com", it takes me to a search page because it cannot find my website. Why isn't it working?
