as to the moderator -- sorry I wasn't clear -- I needed to catch a moderator's attention to get this post's title changed - I had accidentally left it identical to my previous post, so it doesn't match the contents of this post.

Also, is there any way for me to catch a moderator's attention other than posting as I did above in this thread?

I'm unable to get the author to show up on my posts. The author is selected/showing in the author drop down menu when I'm creating the post, but once published, no author is shown. How do I fix this?

I created an MSWord document that had extensive internal hyperlinks for endnotes. When I copied it into wordpress, external links were maintined, but I lost all of the anchors for the internal links between the endnote and the article itself.

I've already found out how to manually create anchors, but I need to know if there is some way to paste into wordpress without losing ones that already exist.

I've got 4 anchors but each one I click all takes you to the first heading, i've checked the code and it should work, but i'm struggling.

Anybody got ay advice?

Or you can use a static page instead of a text widget.

Note that of course this kind of linking can only lead to single instances of each "category" you're thinking of - cannot fetch a group of posts the way the Categories widget does.

As far as I can tell, categories are assigned to the blog post as a whole, not to specific location(s) within a post. Is there a way to assign a category to a particular location within a blog post? I read this entry on the forum: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/anchors, which describes how to insert an anchor at a specific location within a post, along with a link at the top of the post that the reader would have to click to get to that (anchor) location. In this manner one could assign a category to the blog post as a whole, then put links at the top of the page to specific areas within the blog. I'd like to avoid having to insert a link at the top of the page that the reader would have to click--I'd prefer for them to be taken directly to the pertinent paragraph when they click on the category. Is there a way to do this in wordpress?

Please help. I have written my first blog and safely saved it in my drafts.

However, at the start I have listed out as bullet points 6 subjects of the blog. I want to link each bullet point to its corresponding heading lower down the blog, so that anyone can go straight to the area they want to read, rather than having to read all the way through.

How do I do this? Do I have to insert html code, or is there a simpler way of doing this?

By my book, however, the anchor should be:

One of those questions I'll probably never get an answer to I guess. Much like if you choke a smurf, what color will he turn? You know, deep and truly perplexing issues.
