You didn't mention sharing other blog's content, so I assumed you meant your own self-hosted blog's content - my mistake.

The notification comes from Twitter, not WordPress.com.

By sharing something hosted on WordPress.com, Twitter assumes that since you're sharing it that you might also be interested in following the user account that hosts the content - in this case, @wordpressdotcom. To make Twitter stop asking, you can either follow the account or you can just ignore the notification going forward.

If you don't want ignore this notification, you can contact Twitter support by visiting this link and see if they can do anything else:
https://support.twitter.com/

I hope that helps.

Hello csonnek,
Thanks for your reply but what does my problem have to do with my blog?
I am not talking about my blog here.
When I share wordpress.com blogs from my reader on Twitter then I get asked EVERY TIME if I want to follow @wordpressdotcom.
What does this have to do with my self-hosted website?

Hi there,

You've reached support for the free sites hosted at WordPress.com. Your site at vinoinlove.com is hosted by BlueHost using the free WordPress software available at http://wordpress.org.

How do I deactivate this? It's quite annoying that every time I share a post on Twitter I get asked to follow @wordpressdotcom. I don't want to follow you and I think it's annoying that I get it asked every time I share a post. It makes me think that it might be better sharing posts without the using Publicize.
I understand that wordpress.com wants to advertise their twitter but it's really annoying if you ask EVERY SINGLE TIME. So please tell me how to turn it off.

1. Do not have anyone on your blog as an admin. Only have one admin, YOU.

2. Create new passwords for the email address associated with your account here, and make it a strong one, and do NOT use the same password for your account here. If you can remember the password, it is NOT strong enough.

3. Set a new password for your account here (see #2 above).

4. Do NOT let anyone else use your computer. If they get into your accounts, they can change your passwords.

SIGH .......... Allow me to tell you the truth. There is no way your site was "hacked". This is multiuser blogging platform if your site has been invaded that is due to your own behaviors.

For years we hear this same old darama from club penguin kids who chose to share their log-in information with other, choose to use lame passwords that can be easily guessed, and/or who leave their log-in information where others can get it. We have even had to put up with the drama and remonstatrions of those club penguin kids who have been seduced into allowing despicable lowlife Admin access to their blogs.

The support documentaion is clear on passwords, security and on the recommendation that there is only 1 Admin per blog.

Please read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/

I have flagged this thread for Staff attention. Please be paient while you wait for Staff to get to you as there are others ahead of you in the queque.

I KEEP GETTING HACKED!!!!! I change my password every time, which was FIVE times, but this hacker keeps getting in, and it's really annoying!!!!! I removed both of my administrators to prove it wasn't one of them...and I was hacked AGAIN. It wasn't one of my administrators...it's someone called Teh Water Bros the first five times...this sixth time its called UHUB...I think it's the same person, because they changed my header and my background to a scary monster picture...I'm leaving it up so WordPress can see it and can actually fix it this time...Wordpress is awesome other than this annoying problem! Please fix this!

This is exactly the problem I am having. In fact, I've had it twice because I just sent an invitation to myself to double check the problem. So, apparently I am sending the wrong invitation? Here is what I did:

On the "Users" heading I went to "invites". There I entered the name and email address of the person I wanted to invite (me). I checked the box: "add user to my blog as a contributor".

That generated the following email message, which, again, came to a different email address of mine so I could test it:

"Howdy Jenny,

You have been invited to create a free WordPress.com account
by Jenny from http://jennysfamily.wordpress.com. To accept this invitation,
visit http://wordpress.com/invite/2f743c6f7c26c391522122139f351c51

Jenny personalized this invitation by writing:
"I've been using WordPress.com and thought you might
like to try it out."

Welcome,
The WordPress.com Team

PS. If you are new to blogging check out:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-started/"

Is that wrong?

Thanks for your help.

I honestly think they sent you the wrong invitation. That shouldn't be the text of the invite. They literally only invited you to start a new WP blog, not to contribute to one.
