I use Fitbit(fitbit.com) to log my food. I would like to have a dedicated page on my blog that pulls in this data from the fitbit database. Fitbit does have an API that would allow me to access this data (https://wiki.fitbit.com/display/API/API-Get-Foods). Is it possible for me to pull in this information on my wordpress.com blog?

Hi,
I have a development question. Does WordPress allow 2-legged authentication for Restful API calls via OAuth2? (Such as a POST create API call.) The idea is to POST to a single specific known WordPress account with known application key and ID. I would not need to POST to the visiting users account and thus wouldn't need their permissions to gain a token for them. Or if not 2-legged, another secure method to allow the above?

We still accept API keys as proof, if you have one, but are no longer issuing them with new accounts.

In the future, we may have an alternative method to prove ownership, but for now please use a good password on both your WordPress.com account and your email address, and change the email address on your WordPress.com account if you ever stop using the current one.

Thanks, timethief - I'm a "saver" too, and though I back up my posts and save them all locally, I don't know what to save to prove it is mine!

Thank you, feartheseeds - I didn't know we could request one. But since they aren't sending them, I wonder if WP would even accept it.

There must be something, to prove we own our blogs. Something?

I'm not sure how relevant the API key is to claiming your WordPress blog anymore, but you can still get an one, they've just moved the sign-up page over to Akismet:

Tha sounds like a good idea to me. I have all my information of hard copy file 3" x 5" file cards as well as keeping it online.

There are so many posts about needing to prove ownership of a blog. For those of us who created our blogs after WP stopped issuing API keys, what proof do we have if our email account disappears, or we can't access it?

I think the email provider I used when I created this blog will be around for a long while, but... people likely thought the same thing about Enron. (Not to mention that I completely forgot how to access the google apps page, and the panic from that - resolved, now - is what really prompts this question.)

What should we be saving in several places, for just-in-case?

It seems that the Twitter Widget needs updating with the latest Twitter APIs for URL handling. All links which pass through Twitter are now wrapped inside a t.co url. Most Twitter clients, however, use the new APIs so that the original link is displayed in the client or on the Twitter website.

The Twitter Widget on WordPress hasn't been updated so all links appearing in the feed now show as t.co urls giving no clue as to where the link will take the reader. This deters some people from clicking the links. Please could the Twitter Widget be updated to correctly handle t.co wrappers from Twitter and display the original url instead.

My question is. I bought a WordPress theme: http://themeforest.net/item/royale-creative-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/1565576

On the slider you click and a youtube vide pops up. I would like it to be a youtube video with a playlist. There is a place in the admin to add a youtube URL I would like to add a playlist URL

I asked the developer of the theme his answer was this: Documentation on the YouTube API – http://code.google.com/apis/youtube/2.0/developers_guide_protocol.html
You need to retrieve the json of the playlist via php and feed it to header.php line 602 –

This is what I found on line:

Because i'm very new with code I'm lost. I ask him to explain and for details but I have not gotten an answer. Can anyone please give me details or a sample as to what I'm supposes to do on line 602

for that i am using two url for making httprequest:
1. http://en.search.wordpress.com/?q=music&page=3&s=date&f=json
2. http://en.wordpress.com/tag/music/feed/
3. http://example.com/?s=searchterm&feed=rss2

which url is suitable for to get all the data[vidoe, photo etc..] posted with blog?

I was asking for the URL in order to ensure you are on the right forum.

If you installed a plugin or a script on the site, chances are it runs on WordPress software but is not hosted by WordPress.com. If that's the case, you are in the wrong forum and should ask at http://wordpress.org/support/
