Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but I've just tried the new Publicize feature, and when WordPress pushes content to LinkedIn, I noticed that LinkedIn does not properly render curly apostrophes or curly quotes correctly. Personally, I hate being forced to use extended character set characters, and would prefer it if I could specify "no curly" punctuation, but at the very least, could you fix this? It's ugly.

Yes, the apostrophe and the s matter.

Don't do both, eg "Grauman's Chinese Theatre" and "Graumans Chinese Theatre". That would be borderline spammy. Pick one or the other and be consistent with it. If you want to know what's most popular, go to the global tag page for that tag and see how often each is updated. The busier page is the more popular tag.

Our blog is running a podcast. You can find the feed at: http://okcthundercast.wordpress.com/feed

When we post an episode, WordPress automatically uses the body of the post as the description of the episode. However, if we use an apostrophe in the body, in the feed it is automatically converted to a #8217; special character. This displays find in browsers, but doesn't display properly in iTunes. I believe this happens because the description is wrapped in a CDATA block. This link from Apple states "CDATA tags are strongly discouraged". Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

http://okcthundercast.wordpress.com/feed

I believe it's only the CDATA block causing the problem because we use a hyphen in the title, which is converted to a character #8212 in the feed. However, iTunes displays this just fine. Has anyone else seen this? I can't seem to find conversation about this.
