Since there is no official support for the CSS upgrade, and few here in the forums with much CSS experience, you should figure that you are on your own. Before buying the upgrade, you can go to appearance > edit CSS and wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try out changes before you buy the upgrade.

The tagline on my header has moved down and is now suddenly over (muddled together) with "HOME and ABOUT".

It was fine yesterday and I don't understand what has gone wrong.
I basically wanted the Blog title on my Header and Tagline on the header as well. But somehow it has changed.

Any advise?

If you've got the CSS upgrade, you must first upload the image to your blog's Media Library; then you get its URL and paste it in the appropriate spot in the CSS.
