Hello,
I set up a seminar on my blog and set people up as authors so that they could upload comments and discuss without having to wait for them to be moderated (as with the contributor option). However, this did not happen and I still had to moderate the comments which delayed discussion and meant I (as administrator) kept having to login to approve comments. How can I allow people to make comments without me having to approve them first before they go live?

Many thanks,
Maddy

Thank you. I will put a link to the support document on the group blog so should someone want to do it that way they can read this for themselves. As I am admin on the blog I am not 100 % sure what the 'authors' see when they log in. But it might make sense for many of them to do it that way. You are always very kind, much appreciated :)

I can't seem to find this but I could be looking in the wrong place, apologies if it's obvious somewhere.... Can an 'author' use the Posting by Email option on a group blog or can they only create posts via the Dashboard? Many thanks for any help.

I'm looking to make a site using WordPress. I want the site to be able to have users sign up, be automatically be assigned Author roles. Then I want Authors able to make posts from within the blog itself, rather than go into the Control Panel. I was thinking some sort of custom page that would have a text box with the rich text editor. Then from there they could post, and it would we automatically added to the blog.
