Links widget solution:
a) You go to Links > Add New, enter the author name in the Name field, paste the author URL into the Web Address field, create an "Authors" category, paste the image URL in the Image Address field, set a rating number, click Add Link. Same thing for the second author, only the Authors category will now be there to select, of course, and you set a different rating number. The link with the higher rating number will show above the other one.
b) You go to Appearance > Widgets, add a Links widget to Sidebar, set the Category pulldown to "Authors" and the Sort By pulldown to "Link rating", check the options "Show Link Image" and "Show Link Name", save, drag to reposition.

Text widget solution:

That's a basic solution - the appearance can be modified any way you please.

I'm pretty hopeless at HTML, which I believe is how I'd have to configure the text widget. Not even sure how to go about using the Links widget for this.

I DO appreciate the suggestion, and I'll take a look to see if a primer exists somewhere, but without some instructions, there's no way for me to do it.

I was wondering if there was a maximum of authors that can be displayed on the Author Widget. One of my authors had accepted my invitation, however, she is not shown in the author list. I had invited 7 people and I am using the Chateau theme.
Kindly advise.

OK. As it is, he sends me his text and I post it into my blog as a post (rather than as a page). So I will try to do it the way you explained and hope that clicking onto his picture in the sidebar will bring up all his posts for people to read.

I have already made an Image widget. I put his picture on it. So far it links to his one article, but when he send more articles, are you saying that clicking onto that Image widget will bring up all of his soon to be articles?

And is it wrong to use the Image widget? Should I re-do it and use his face in a Text widget?

What is the difference between a Text widget and an Image widget???

Question: I am getting articles from someone and have made a widget in my sidebar for his article. However, I would like to have his picture link to a folder that has all of his soon to be articles, so that people can browse through all that he has written.

As it is, if a person clicks onto his picture, they will be taken to one post -- the latest post -- but they won't be able to read any of his other articles.

I do not want to put his Pages in the Header Menu. I want to put it in the regular Pages that are at the bottom of my blog. Is it possible to do that? How do I do it so that clicking on his picture will take the reader to the most recent article, with all his other articles below it to select from???

I manage a blog written by students and every semester we change out the authors. I want only the current authors to show up in the authors widget, but I don't want to delete the old content.

I've removed the former authors as users/contributors, but they are still showing up in the widget.

An avatar is an image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on avatar enabled sites. Here you can enable the display of avatars for people who comment on your blog.

If your Gravatar is not displaying on a blog then it can be because the blog is not equipped to display them, or because the blogger chooses not to display them.
