There is no theme that's particulalry focused on guest authors or multiauthors. However, some themes do provide "author profiles" below their posts.

We are currently using the MistyLook theme. We want to be able to spotlight the contributions of regular guest commentators on various legal issues. The MistyLook template doesn't provide an opportunity to do that through the "pages" widgit. We can add them as authors and they would appear along with the in-house blog post authors, but that is not enough of an incentive for lawyers to guest blog regularly for us on a pro bono basis.

Is there a theme that allows for that kind of spotlighting? I.e. one that would allow us to have a list of "WLF contributors" and then a separate list of guest contributors, perhaps with a photo and their law firm/employer?

For some time an unwanted tiny avatar has been showing beside the author’s name within the ‘Authors’ block in the sidebar.
The widget setup panel let you to choose among 5 different avatar sizes (16x16 to 128x128 pixels) plus the ‘No Avatars’ option that actually is the one I have activated. In spite of that, an 11x11 pixels avatar is shown, linking to the author’s Gravatar profile.
Since I have this kind of feature elsewhere in the blog, I don’t want it in here.
Please note that the issue appeared after a long time of correct behaviour, and for no apparent reason.

Does someone have a clue?

Under the Appearance tab in the Dashboard, click on "Widgets" - you can add an "authors" attribute to the footer which you can customize and then list your authors.

I manage several blogs (we're just getting off the ground) through one main account and I am the only one entering the posts that are written by myself and other organizational staff/leadership. Please let me know how to properly acknowledge the author of the blog post.

Gracatar changes are never instraneous as they are cached. As your gravatar has changed everywhere else what I would do is pull the widget out and leave it in the in Active Widgets box out for awhile and then reinstall it and see if that works or not.

Hi TimeThief,

The issue isn't with the actual Author Grid or Authors widget. It's the same story for each one. When I click on certain authors, it brings me to what should be a page with all of their previous work. However, when I click on them (SacDaddy82, MommyHatesMe, etc.), their posts aren't showing up despite the fact that they've published something.

Author Grid = display only avatars, without showing their names or links to their former posts

Authors Widget = display the names or avatars of all your blog’s authors, links to a list of all their former posts, as well as links to posts they’ve recently written. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/authors-widget/

Use the Author's Widget instead.

I can't locate an Author's Grid Widget on the blog linked to your username. Are you referring to another blog? If you only want to display your authors’ avatars, without showing their names or links to their former posts, the Author Grid Widget does that. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/author-grid-widget/

Hi all,

I just added the Author Grid widget to the bottom of my page, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. For whatever reason, some of the authors' work isn't showing up after clicking on their avatar.

Does anybody know why this would be happening?

Regardless of the theme, bylines will only display now if there are at least two authors who both have at least one published post in the blog.

In some themes there will also be an Author Profile displayed below each post. The data for the Author byline author profile is from this page > Users > My Profile > “About you” section . If you do not wish to have an Author Profile appear then remove the information you previously provided on this page > Users > My Profile in the “About you” section and click “Update Profile”.

Yes, you can! The Authors Widget shows display names (nicknames) and not usernames, so if you customize your nickname then it will show your full name.

Hi there,

Something has changed with the authors widget. Help! Before, when clicking on the name of one of the authors of the blog on the sidebar, a list of their previous posts would appear. Now, when you click on an author's name, you are redirected to their Gravatar profile. How do i fix this?

Please advise and thank you in advance for the help.

I added the author widget, but only the avatars show in the sidebar. Before our theme was changed to Coraline, the avatars were shown with their names. Our authors are all admins..does that affect it? How can I fix it? We would like our names to show.

You're right. The Widget is called "Authors" on the Paperpunch theme's Widget page, but it (strangely) shows up as "Contributors" in the right-hand column of the blog, where the other widgets fall. Hence the confusion.

Again, I'm logged into my account under Ranylt Richildis, which was created under the ID Ranylt Richildis many months before I created the C Harlowe account (a pseudonym that didn't exist before then). I can't see any reason why, logged into my RR account as RR and using an RR email, I should see any other name. I've checked Profile and Personal Info again and again, to no avail.

I guess I'll have to contact the staff.
