Hi there,

I manage 2 WordPress.com blogs: meeg.org and eaunritchie.org - both on behalf of other people. (Dustin and Ean, respectively).

I have just noticed that my name (Nick) appears in Google search results for either site.

I don't want my name to appear as the 'author' of these blogs. I would prefer no author, or (at least) Dustin / Eaun.

There seems to be lots of (confusing) information about linking Google+ profiles and adding profile pictures, but I would actually prefer to remain a bit more anonymous!

Cheers, Nick

So can anyone provide help on the question!! for wordpress.com please?

it seems to sort of work (my code above) but it seems to not always display in Google and also seems not to work for more than one author. This presumably is because my 'solution' is not done on a per-post basis but rather on the right hand bar...ie site-wide basis. It seems that just the first one listed In the bar works (I cold be wrong).

Also there appears to be a directly related issue recognising (multiple-) authorship and who the publisher is.

Yes!

On your Google+ you need to go to your About section and scroll to your Links. Edit your profile and input the WP blog you contribute to and your picture should show up. I know it showed up on mine at shanmanonline.com. However, it doesn't show up on another blog that I manage.

I think it might also depend on the theme you have in place too. You should also make sure that you have Google Analytics embedded in the code too.

I didn't mess with coding, I just did it straight through G+. Here's a great article on it:

Hey everyone, I started my new blog to inspire others to inspire my writing. I currently write in many different areas but I have yet to land a paying full time writing gig. To get myself out into the internet world I devised a blog to have readers poll ideas that are one word topics. Based on the winning polls I will group them up and write a short story per week that uses those topics. I hope to have people getting involved, discussing my writing and everything to do with writing/reading. Thanks for stopping by!
PS: I wanted to get people to start showing interest in this idea before I starting doing polls, so post some comments letting me know you're paying attention!

(1) The first method is to choose a theme that has an "authors" page template.
(2) The second method is to create a Category for each author's name and have the authors assign their categories correctly to each post they make.
(3) The third is for each Author to simply type a byline into each post. Example: The Wonderful Post I've Ever Read by John Doe

And IMHO as these options do exist insisting that staff edit each and every theme is not likely to happen.
