Take a look in the Themes forum for posts about Autofocus. Some themes don't display images on the main page unless they're Featured images.

Hi, pixelmacher. There're no current plans to add Autofocus 2.0 to WordPress.com right away but it could still happen at some point in the future. It's a cool-looking theme!

Hello! I used to do a lot of HTML back in the late '90s, so I have a bit of knowledge, but I am unfamiliar with CSS.

What I'm trying to do on my blog is take the menu that is in the upper right hand corner, and put that down into the body of the home page, creating a tile-based organizational structure.

Any ideas?

Each post I am trying to display a picture. On the pain page it does not display the pictures. If I click on the individual picture it will display, but how can I get it to show ALL pictures on the main page?

You're welcome.
Yes, you can correct your already published posts this way too. But you don't literally "need" to do that: it's a way to correct things, but it's not the normal way of making the image show up. For future posts make sure you observe either of the two ways I suggested.

I actually discovered that you need to go to the image library and then 'link' the image to the post. When you do that, the image then appears on the home page!

Autofocus is my favotite theme.
I´d like to suggest offering the 2.0 Version as a premium theme.
I would buy it at a reasonable price.

In short, the homepage will display an image for a post if the image has been uploaded from your computer to your blog via the Add Media tool of that post, or if you set it as a featured image to that post.

b) "Better" is subjective. You can read about all themes and see live demos here:

Hi
I'm new to wordpress, migrating over from the dying Jux. I'm using the AutoFocus theme and the thumbnail images are blank on the home page. They appear in the articles, but not on the home page. I have tried some other themes and found the same result. What is it that I'm doing wrong?
Also, I'm looking for graphic rich themes similar to what Jux had. Are there better ones than AutoFocus?

Hi everyone.

So I have the beautiful Autofocus theme for my website, but for some reason, half way scrolling down the front page, the images stop being in a 'mosaic' style (i.e stacked together) and instead are one story per row. If you go to the website (www.vikingsinlondon.wordpress.com) and scroll down you'll see what I mean.

I've been trying to figure it out, but can't for the life of me. Any help is really, really appreciated.

AutoFocus’ prominent single post featured images, which when set manually are placed front and center, above your post’s title and content. The maximum width of single post featured images is 800.

If you don’t see the Featured Image module on your Add New or Edit Post page, please make sure you’ve selected Featured Image in your Screen Options.

AutoFocus responds to not only single image posts but also full galleries. If you would prefer to forego a large featured image above your post content and instead showcase an entire set of photos then simply insert a gallery into your post without manually setting a featured image.

Main page and archive pages on Autofocus don't rely on featured images. Featured images have to be set manually to each post. Each post on the main page and on category/archive pages will display a regularly inserted image (provided the image had been uploaded via the Add Media button of that post).

The only difference is when you view a single complete post: regular image shows below the post title, max width 590px, featured image shows above the post title, max width 800px.

Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help

By default the front page of your blog displays all posts. The 404 (page not found) error message on the front page of the blog appeared because the Admin of the blog deleted the placeholder Hello World post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ As soon as you publish a post, not a page it will disappear. Read the differences between Pages and Posts.

What you see in the front page demo at http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/autofocus/ is the blog posts front page (not a static front page) with a featured image set for each: http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

I am desperatly trying to make my home page (static) looks like the demo of autofocus.

Even though I don't want a post or news page, I tried it thinking it might be the solution to my problem. The news page looks now like a mosaic, the gallery is full width but tumbnails are not adjustable, and there is dates which I don't want on my home page.

If I simply add a gallery in mosaic on my home page, I have the result I want but not with the full width of the web site.

Is there a way for me to get a full width mosaic on my static home page, which I could link every picture to a single page ?

You can create a text for a copyright notice in a text widget and use position absolute to position it in the footer.
