@feartheseeds
I politely made no reference to that. These memes are in essense links schemes (backlinks schemes) and we all know how much Google likes link schemes, right? Natural linking patterns to authorataive posts in related blogs in posts on your own blog are what Google is focused on. These awards memes are the opposite of natural linking patterns, which is why I don't participate in any of them.

I was just nominated for an award. Instead of asking all my friends, I thought I would come here.
I now understand that being nominated means you have "won" and now can accept the responsibilities of the award.
So, 3 questions:
1) Where do you get the pic of the award to post on your blog?

2) How do you post it permanently (I can, probably, figure this one out)?

3) Do I have to do anything special when nominating someone else, or just post it?

Sorry if the questions are really basic. I looked and looked and decided this was the more direct route,

Hi!
I just got the new that I am nominated for a blog award. Hm....
As I understand it I have to nominate several other people and put in some link in a post.
My questions;

Is blog awarding a good or bad thing? Is it just a way of mass posting?
How serious is it, when I get an award just because someone else has to award several people to get his/her own award?

Thanks
I haven't found a widget for this yet, but I would love to have a wordpress blog widget (not a plugin) that will allow the admin to award customizable points & ranks to contributors/authors for excellent/popular posts/articles that they contribute to the website itself.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. Following your favorite blogs by others is easy, if that's what you meant. There's usually a box to click near the Comments in order to subscribe. If you want to promote that other blog, write a post about what you enjoy in it.

The same advice applies to promoting your OWN blog. Take a look at how others are promoting theirs in this Showcase Forum. You will get ideas of what to do. A good promo for a blog tells you what kind of audience it is aimed at, and what form of content it contains, and it's short, like any other commercial.

Best of luck to you. Your blog is already very pretty, and will be much better when you add more written material.
