@sashee4: Yes, you can change it via CSS editing if you have the Custom Design upgrade. But a) CSS editing questions should be posted in the CSS forum, b) the blog linked to your username is unused.

Is their not a way to change the colour of the slideshow background (dark grey box) by CSS? Also to get rid of the rounded corners, it doesn't match the style of my current site.

This code,

body.custom-colors #page, body.custom-background.custom-background-image-empty #page {
background: #FFFFFF;
}

has correct syntax. Did you perhaps miss the ending bracket? I just tried it again in Firebug in Firefox and it worked.

Alternately you can go with the following code.

#page {
background: #FFFFFF !important;
}`

It isn't a good idea to write code that requires the "!important" attribute, but it should work. The CSS editor will whine at you with a warning though.

Add the following to your custom CSS and edit the color code as desired. I've used #FFFFFF (white) as a placeholder for you.

body.custom-colors #page, body.custom-background.custom-background-image-empty #page {

I have the sundance theme I don't know how to change the color of the page

I can change the background, fonts, pictures,, headers add links, etc

To remove the triangle shaped indentations ("flag" shapes) from the main menu in the Adelle theme, add this to your Appearance → Themes → Customize → CSS panel:

Edit the body .home selector and make it body.category so that it will show only on the category pages as shown below. The second bit of code sets white for the content area. I'm assuming you will want the background image an white content background on the single post pages as well (after one clicks on a post title). I've used the "archive" body class so that it will show not only on the categories pages, but also on archive and tags pages.

body.archive, body.single {
background: url("http://imveryape.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/justice_in_concert-60.jpg") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}

Hello all, I am looking to border my posts with an image. Very similar to how illogical computer does it http://illogicalcomputer.com. My posts only appear on the Best New Music, Hidden Gems, Best-of Lists and Thoughts page so those are the ones I am looking to border with an image. The actual background behind the posts I am trying to keep white.

Any CSS tips?

Based on the link you've provided, I'm guessing my answer is that I cannot change it. Maybe that could be in a future update, more slideshow customizations. Appreciate your help.

Ok, I see. So my question then is not for the carousel rather the black background that is on a slideshow that is rectangular by default. That's what I would like to be white. Or again, if I could resize the slideshow to fit the square images that would work too. Thanks again.

I did that and it's still black. Is the carousel the actual slider or is it when you click on the image and the viewer that pops up and that background is changed? I'm a little confused what the carousel is.

Yes. Go to Settings > Media and scroll down to select:
Image Gallery Carousel
Background color white in the drop down
"save changes"

Is it possible to change the slideshow background from black to white in the wordpress.com free blog? Or even resize it to fit the images displayed? The slideshow I'm wanting to use is 1024x1024 and it looks really bad in that large black 'framed' viewer. Thank you.

This turns out to be a feature of the theme. When a background color is set, the theme adds a bit of CSS to make the container for the content match that background color.

With the Custom CSS tool that's included in your Premium bundle, you can override this behaviour using the CSS below:

#page { background-color: #fff; }
