Did you make a mistake? Can't say without knowing your actual goals. Everything you've said here is easily doable on your theme. Staff have said they will help all Custom Design upgrade people with theme customization code, so you'll have to wait till a moderator moves this thread to the appropriate forum and then staff will reply.

I just bought custom design and a theme on WordPress.com (and have a web address hosted by Network Solution.) I think Basic Maths is absolutely lovely....but not finding the backend as flexible as I fantasized -- but that may be my fault because I don't know CCS. (How do I delete the search and the tags from the top of the page? (I have taken all the widgets from the page.) How do I make text different sizes? It's a little monotonously one-sized. How do I stretch the Title out onto one line? How do I make the little thumbnails more thunmnaily? Should I be using another theme altogether?)

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, Did I make a mistake? to get this web site to the registered domain name I have, should I have gone with WorPress.org? I've now set up the basic framework for the web site (about 20 pages) on WP.Com: do I lose all my work now or is there a way to send it to .org?

THANKS!!!

Why did basic maths photos change from a max width of 620 pixels to 420? It's telling me I have to pay an additional 30 dollars to change this back (by purchasing CSS customization) to the way it was when I first purchased it a year ago.

I have a blog that runs on the Basic Maths theme. http://www.instantbooks.wordpress.com

Each post consists of scanned-in images of books i make, so the blog is almost like a photo blog. Just a day or two ago every photo on the blog has shrunk in size making it nearly impossible to read the writing in the photos. The photos once took up the entire space below each post title. Now there's a large white space on the right of each photo. What the heck happened and how can I fix this? There are literally thousands of photos that need fixing.

CSS can be used to change appearance, but it cannot be used to modify PHP code such as how the date format is set.

WordPress.com doesn't offer a way for you to modify theme PHP code, and so you can't change the date format in this case.

I am a novice and need help editing the post entry date format from MAY 2, 12 to May 12, 2012. This would match the Basic Maths theme specific date format for Recent Post and Archives which has the full year "2012".

Unfortunately, I cannot track down where to edit that from "12" to "2012" and would appreciate any help!

Thank you.

Hi,

I've got a bit of an issue.....
Here's an example: http://fastfoodblogging.com/2011/07/19/u2-every-breaking-wave/

What I would like is for that video to be in the same column and not hanging over into the left side of the page---more like the image and text in this post: http://fastfoodblogging.com/2011/07/22/cave-of-forgotten-dreams/.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Sam
