The best approach is to optimize the image and presize it prior to uploading it as when the cropper comes into play image quality is lost. It should be no larger than 150k in file size or it will take forever for your site to load for people on slower internet connections and you run the risk of them clicking out. The header image can give you some idea of how big you want the image to be > Apearance > Background

Creating a new static page in Bueno

Creating static page is the same in any WordPress.com blog no matter what the theme is. Pages are static. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will show on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.

What’s critical is:
(1) a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
(2) a clear comprehension of the fact that there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can either put the categories widget into the sidebar, or you can create a custom menu and add the categories into the custom menu.

If you do not want all the posts to show on the main page, then you can create a static front page for your site. If you wish, you can also create a “blog” page, but you do not have to if you do not want to.

Choice 1 static front page.
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page.

Which do you choose? It's one or the other.

If you choose Choice 1 static front page then you have to create two pages. One for the static front page which you can call anything you choose example "Welcome", and one for the blog posts to appear on which you can call anything you choose example "Blog". And, what are the dimensions for a custom background in Bueno? I have a graphic designer who came up with a cool background. Am I stuck with the default background in different colors?

Your only other options for "Changing Blog Title Size and Font" are to change themes to one that does have the "hide text" feature which is free of charge. Or to purchase an annually renewable CSS editing upgrade and do the work yourself.

If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. It does not allow you to remove footer links to the theme designer or to wordpress.com. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.

If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

Or alternatively hide my title and not have it show on my blog. (I tried just deleting the blog title which worked but then on other posts I left comments etc it showed i had no title. So I want to keep my title and maybe just 'hide' it off my blog.)
