It looks like maybe I will need to add the "subcribe" plugin, but I don't think I can do that since I don't have wordpress.org. Is there a simpler way to do this?

Clicking that graphic button would make the Follow tab rise up and be ready for orders.

Why? An @ button could go by our t and f buttons at midwaysurf.com - and the directing text beneath them could go. Thanks.

You can deactivate the number of subscribers/followers by opening the Blog subscriptions widget and using the setting there.
