I assume this is the blog you are talking about, http://davidfarnham.wordpress.com/ . You cannot remove or rename that tab. It is defined in the underlying theme files and we cannot change or modify those.

With some CSS knowledge, and the paid CSS upgrade, you could remove the entire top navigation if you wished, but not just one tab.

This blog post by Panos lists which themes have a home/front page/blog tab, and which do not: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/05/06/the-home-tab/ .

Hey there.

So an old chesnut....

I'm using K2-lite. But I don't want the blog tab that comes in built. I've already set another new page I've created as my post page, but unfortunately can't find a way to get rid of the blog tab. I've read elsewhere that this is hard-coded in. Is there not a way using CSS to either:

a) Remove it altogether
b) Change its title to something else, like 'news'

Any assistance much appreciated.

Ta

If you upgrade, you should already know CSS because there is no official support for it here.

The tab does work. "Blog" (in other themes "Home" or "Front") is meant to take you back to your FRONT, which is usually but not necessarily the main posts page. Now that you've set a static front, you need to create a BLANK page, name it as you see fit, and set it as your POSTS page (in Settings>Reading).

Also, since "Blog" and "Association" now lead to the same page, there's no point in having both tabs in your header. You can remove the second by assigning that page to another "parent" page.

Hello,

I made an "about" page ("Association") the default start page. When I did that, the tab for the "Blog" page (with posts) continues to appear, but the tab doesn't work. The only way to view the blog posts is via the archive.

I would like to keep Association as the default start page, but I also need the Blog tab to work.

What have I done wrong?

Thanks!

I'm afraid I'm no good with the page parent/child thing, so hopefully someone else can come along and let you know. There must be a way.

Actually, that's highly ironic, since I'm a paid mommyblogger now. There's a blog post inthat.

If you could be more specific about where you got lost, it would help.

Go to your Options and there you can set any preexisting page as the front page of the blog. Once you've done that, you've still got your extra page...the blog has both a Blog tab AND another one? If that's the case, go to the page you want to be the front page, say, About. Go to Edit the About page. On the right of the edit page, you'll see a stack of blue bars with different titles: Post Date, Categories, etc. There's one called Page Parent. Click on the X at the corner and it'll open; then you can set that page you're on to be the "child" of the Posts page. Then hit Save and check your blog; all should be fixed then.

Hello, I have a quick question. I am putting together a blog for a group at my school, and I was asked if the About page could be the home page while the blog be available under another tab. However, when I try to do this, I need to make a new tab for the blog, but that leaves me with an extra tab that is already labled blog. Both the blog tab and the About tab link to the About page. How do I fix this?

Go to adlink.wordpress.com if you feel you need to check it out yourself in order to understand.
