And by the way, while WP is improving the posts list, it would be helpful to have a filter/tab at the top for Asides, like the current tabs for Sticky and Drafts.

Have just noticed a change in the way Asides are handled in our list of posts. Yes, they are now easier to pick out with the little symbols on the left side. However, in both quick edit and bulk edit, there is no longer a setting for changing them from Asides to Standard posts. With The Morning After theme, this change is the only way I've found to move old Asides off my front page. My only option now is to edit each Aside individually. Hope this is just an oversight by WP.

Posts > All Posts: click the little squares to select posts (or click the little square to the right of "Title" to select all the posts on the screen), select Edit from the Bulk Actions pulldown, click Apply, select desired status from the Status pulldown, click Update.

Why: Most info is not up-to-date anymore.

You said I can bulk edit posts, but I don't see how I could change the status of posts in bulk.

You can bulk edit posts, but only in batches of, say, up to 50 posts, otherwise the tool will crash.
Why do you want to do this?

Hello,
I'd like to change the status of most of my posts (about 1.000) from "published" back to "pending". How can I do that?
I do *not* want to delete the posts.

You need to select a different category as your Default category before you can get rid of Uncategorized.

Following the import and conversion from tags to categories on our blog site, trustedinsight.wordpress.com, now all posts have the category Uncategorized as well as with the categories we want. As we cannot use plugins, I know there is no way to do a bulk edit, but is there a way, perhaps with WordPress's own support team, to drop the Uncategorized category from our posts?

The site linked to your username has 3 published posts in it. Use the bulk edit feature in the edit posts screen to delete them and then empty the trash.

Unfortunately it's not documented in the support docs. I've searched them and came across Unattached Files where no word mentions you could add multiple images at once.

That's exactly what happens here and confused me.

D'oh, I'm so stupid. Now I get it. "Bulk Actions" is just some sort of headline. The actions are listed below it. I'm sorry. The german translation for "Bulk Actions" is obviously wrong cause it indicates you could edit multiple images.

Perhaps you are attempting to bulk-attach several images to a post?

Hey Martin, I am not sure who removed the "modlook" tag from your thread. It might have happened by accident in the shuffle of WordPress.com breaking :(

It would really help if you could list the exact steps that you are taking so that we can try to test and reproduce.

If I do what you describe, here is what I get:

1. I check 3 images in the library.
2. I only see "Bulk Actions" and "Delete Permanently" under the dropdown.
3. If I leave the dropdown at "Bulk Actions" and then click "Apply", nothing happens and the images are no longer checked, which is what I expect. If I select "Delete Permanently" and click "Apply", it deletes the selected images, which is the expected behavior, too. There is no "Bulk Edit" option that you mention.

Perhaps you are attempting to bulk-attach several images to a post? If I select several images and then click on "Attach" next to one of them, then I have a dialogue pop up that allows me to search for a post or a page and then attach all the images there.

If you could list the exact steps I will be happy to reproduce again :)

Has someone removed the modlook tag from this topic? The last time I checked it was modlooked and now it's not. Should 'modlook' only be done by moderators/volunteers in the forum?

While we're at it - has someone already tested bulk editing in the media library? It's still not working here. I would be grateful if someone would test it on his/her blog and report back if it's working for you.

Like the title says. It seems bulk editing isn't working in the media library. I checked three pictures in the media library, went for the drop-down and chose 'Bulk Edit' and finally clicked "Apply"

Right after that it seemed the page just reloaded and nothing has happend. Well, the three previously checked pictures weren't checked any more. That's all.

Can anyone verify this is a bug?

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to resize photos on existing posts without having to do each one separately? I am trying to resize all vertical photographs on my blog because they are disproportionately large.

I know how to fix it for new posts, but not for existing posts.

You can empty the content yourself by using Bulk Edit to delete all posts, categories, tags, pages, and media.

Changing the underlying address of the site can also be done, but once you change it, you can never get the original address back ever, so be completely sure this is what you want to do.

I use the featured images to group entries by topic (example: an internet look for internet stories, a picture of books for books, etc) and I'm looking to upgrade the images I have used. Is there a way of replacing the current image with a new one (thus automatically updating the featured image), or is there a way of bulk editing featured images? The number of blog entries I have do not conveniently lend themselves to updating each one individually.
