I need to buy my .ca domain elsewhere, and then have it mapped to wordpress? Why is there no streamlined option? From a quick search, this seems like a common problem.

If someone could clarify for me the steps I need to take, I would really appreciate it.

I'm a Canadian blogger living in Toronto who writes about everything from current affairs (I don't shy away from discussing the gritty stuff, like the recent sexual assaults at my university) to the inane, like the pigeons that've taken over my balcony.

I'm new to WordPres having just switched over from Blogger. I'm a writer in Canada trying to do the same thing as every other writer- make my voice heard whilst setting it apart from the norm. I don't know if it will be made "automatic" in the future and I don't know what is involved in adding a zone record.

We would like to have a zone record created so that the domain 'elizabethchitty.ca' can be mapped to 'elizabethchitty.wordpress.com'.

Does it always require an individual request to map '.CA' domains? And if so, is there any consideration at WordPress to make this 'automagic' in future?
