Is There A Way to a Page on the Menu that Corresponds to a Category in my Blog?

1. Whether the categories or tags pages display only a title, a title and and excerpt, or the full post is theme dependent. See the two posts on this blog page for more information on that and what can be done about it: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/category/excerpt/ .

2. There is no way to change the order of the posts. They will always be in reverse chronological order.

I need help with my blog. Okay...

1. Catergories.

How do I make it so that when people click on my categories, they can see the posts that I put in the catergory, instead of just a short summary type of thing?

For ex: http://heavenlymusic.wordpress.com/category/dbsk/

Right now, it's in an archive format. How can I change it so that it shows the whole post?

2. How do I arrange the order of posts in a category?

If you want the link to show up in two different categories, all you have to do is go into links > edit, click the link name and then click the other category you want the link to appear in.

Is there a way to copy a link to another link catergory? I am in edit links but do not see an option. Do I just have to add it manually to anoher link catergory?

Hi there guys im need to know how to add a page that when clicked is linked to a catergory? My caterories url is http://freepspdemos.wordpress.com/category/action/ and i want to make a page linking to that cateroy so when someone clicks the page tab it goes to that catergory rather than a text page. Can this be done ifso please help me!

Hi timethief, thanks a lot for the response but I'm a bit confused. This is my first day on WordPress. What I'm basically looking for is to have Categories arranged like the way I have in http://framesBlog.blogspot.com on the side bar.

Here is what I've done so far at WordPress:

1. I moved the 'Links' from the 'Available Widgets' to Sidebar 1.
2. By default it was a BlogRoll with two links.
3. I went in to 'BlogRoll' and clicked on Add 'Links'. In this page, I created couple of categories and links relating to them.

Now, I'd like to have my 'Categories' in the 'Links' to be re-arranged (not in alphabetical order).

How do I go about it?

In answer to your question: You click on the white corner with the blue bar on the text widget and it opens. You then paste the html into it. Lastly, you click "Save Changes".

It's also important to know that whether you use a text widget or a page, neither one will automatically update like the Categories widget does. You will have to enter each new entry manually.

And if you do not like the alphabetical ordering of categories then you can insert a number in front of each one to get the order you prefer. Here's an example:
1 Zebras
2 Elephants
3 Aardvarks

Depends on how you want them lists. Easiest method would probably to copy the html out of the category listing and copy it into a text widget in teh order that you want them in.

(1) A category is akin to a subject heading used in libraries like Gardening. Under that Gardening subject heading one could have sub-categories like Gardening - vegetables and Gardening - flowers. Categories define the topical subjects that are covered in your posts through the use of key words in the title for example "My Back Yard Garden"; in the subject headings within the post like "Flower Beds" and "Vegetable Plots". And in the body of the post "hanging baskets", "shade plants", "fertilizer", "compost", etc.

(2) Pages are informational posts that contain static contents that you do not intend to update frequently. For example in a gardening blog one page may be a list of vegetables and the specific conditions or types of fertilizers they require. Another page might do the same for flowers. Still another page in a gardening blog may feature images and descriptions of specific gardening tools. And another page may contain a calendar that relates how long it takes a given vegetable seed to mature into a plant ready for harvest.

I'm aware the FAQs doesn't explain this and I could use a better analogy to explain if I knew what you intended to blog about but I hope this gives you an idea of the different uses for the two.
