I recently purchased the domain indigoloveandlight using Go Daddy but heard that I should use WordPress as my blog. I tried to set up my blog using word press, however, it looks like whatever I designed was using Go Daddy instead of WordPress. I am just confused how to change these settings because I already purchased wordpress and would obviously prefer to use it then Go Daddy's website. How can I change these settings?

You have posted your topic inside another topic, not started a new one.

However, I might be able to answer your question. Unfortunately I don't think that you can change your domain once you have made it. If you haven't done anything to the site, your best bet is probably just to set up another one with the name you would like.

If you've already got your site up and running, you still have to make another blog, but you can transfer it over. I don't know the full details on how to do this, but type "export" into the support page search box for more information on moving your stuff over to the new blog.

You will need a zone record added for your name to work - I will flag this for the staff to add a zone record.

You can host your site on 123reg if you want and use WordPress.ORG software - you would need to export your content from WordPress.COM and import it to your .ORG install on 123reg - BUT you then have to fix the site yourself or hire it done

I am having some real issues transfering my wordpress site (www.cyclingletour.wordpress.com) to my new domain name I have registered http://www.onedayahead.co.uk with 123reg.com
I have searched the forums long and hard but I think it is simply my lack of understanding that is runining me!
Do I have to pay 123reg.com to host the site as they are asking for £50 or is their another way of using the domain name?

I have paid the money to wordpress to allow me to use the external site but I really dont want to lose the use of WordPress, which has been superb and export it all elsewhere.

Help, its all for a good charity cause!
