It's no big deal, but the close buttons in the popup screens of the store look kind of odd on Firefox 21.0/Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. See the screenshot for further details. :)

Espero que me puedan ayudar con este error.

It might have gone into the forum spam filter. Try again but this time write your topic on your computer and save it, then copy and paste to text box.

By the way, the forum - not even the showcase forum - is not the place for long posts, it's meant for short descriptions of the posts on your own blog, with an active link to that post. Long posts - are meant to go in your blog. :)

When you're in your "All Pages" view, if you hover over the page title, you will get a "Quick Edit" option. Choose that and then make sure the button to "allow comments" is not checked. That should turn comments off for that page.

Same process works for posts as well.

If your are actually referring to a free hosted .wordpress.com blog and there is no comment box you can use, and no contact form or any contact information on the blog, then you have reached a dead end. See here please > Unused Blogs

Also note that WordPress.com is the top level domain (TLD) and all .wordpress.com blogs are sub-domains. If you purchase a domain name in a domain mapping upgrade then you can map from any .wordpress.com sub-domain URL to your domain. It doesn't matter at all which .wordpress.com sub-domain URL you are mapping from because only you can see the sub-domain URLs on the Admin side of the blog. What your visitors will see is the domain URL.

Hi. Are you referring to someone else's address, like __.wordpress.com?

Other than contacting them, there is nothing you can do. It's not your domain unless the current owner says it is okay for you to have it.

A domain is not availible, but it's administrator doesn't use that blog anymore. I tried to contact him by the mail he wrote in his blog, but my letters don't reach him. So how can I take that domain, if the owner is not going to use that blog anymore?

You pay for the domain name registration & domain mapping ( $ 17-- year if you don't have the privacy upgrade) - your registration runs through July 2012 so if the domain mapping and domain name are the same no additional charge until then - the base blog is free no charge at all - so you can just set the renew option for your mapping and domain registration to "don't renew" and in July of 2012 things will just revert back to your base blog - and as long as the blog is set to Private nobody can read your rants (some were quite funny BTW) - -

A couple of comedians have came through the forum and they used their blog to get their name out in the world a bit -

Anyway - just turn off the auto-renew and you should have no more charges and your base WordPress.COM blog name should just set there waiting in case you ever want it again

I set it to private for the time being, but I want to completely delete it, like a Facebook profile. I believe I have to pay X amount of money per year to keep the site up and if I am done with it, I am essentially just throwing money down the drain by keeping it around (even under private viewership).

Just set the blog to private at settings > privacy. No one will be able to see it or access it so it is as if it is deleted. That way you still have access to the domain management stuff for the domain name.

Hi all,

I am trying to delete/close my blog permanently, but I get this message when trying to do so:

“Warning! You cannot delete a blog if the blog has a domain registration upgrade. You must have access to the blog in order to get to the domain manager.”

What are the steps I need to do to get around this to finally end my blog.
