The colour code I'd been using (before it resorted back to that horrible coral colur) is #BA0707. Would I just put the new codes in the CSS box and do I need to put them in any particular order? Told you I was not a natural at customisation!! Many thanks for any assistance in advance.

Hi there,

  After submitting my latest post, the custom colour scheme I selected when I set the blog up has reverted back to its original, without me having changed any of it. The font itself looks 'grainy' and as though it's not loading properly, the lines under the 'rate this' feature have reduced by more than half, the footer colour is an insipid pink rather than the strong red I had; it's driving me mad! Obviously I went into the customize colour section but all the settings are as I'd left them; what is displayed in my customize section is absolutely not what is being displayed on the screen to the public. I don't see how to change it as I don't know what I 'changed' in the first instance! Could anyone help please? Many thanks in advance!

You can turn images to grayscale using CSS3.

I found a good example here:
http://www.karlhorky.com/2012/06/cross-browser-image-grayscale-with-css.html

To apply that example to http://lornastasiw.com/portfolio-4/ or any place in the Mixfolio theme where the images are contained in an element with class="grid", add this to your Appearance → Themes → Customize → CSS panel:

.grid img {
    filter: url("data:image/svg+xml;utf8,<svg xmlns=\'http://www.w3.org/2000/svg\'><filter id=\'grayscale\'><feColorMatrix type=\'matrix\' values=\'0.3333 0.3333 0.3333 0 0 0.3333 0.3333 0.3333 0 0 0.3333 0.3333 0.3333 0 0 0 0 0 1 0\'/></filter></svg>#grayscale"); /* Firefox 10+, Firefox on Android */
    filter: gray; /* IE6-9 */
    -webkit-filter: grayscale(100%); /* Chrome 19+, Safari 6+, Safari 6+ iOS */
}

The filter property is fairly new in CSS and doesn't have support in all browser versions. See this page for a break down:
http://caniuse.com/#search=filter

The example page I linked earlier also has a CSS example for removing the grayscale effect on hover and you could apply it the same way I've done with the first example above, but since the Mixfolio theme has some other effects that happen on hover, you may wan to try removing those first.

I use the blogum theme but creating and formatting my pages i miss the opportunity to set colours, links or fonts in my text on the "Visual" map. In the menu are only p.e. bold or cursiv selectable, link is deactivated, colour or font menu item is missing. I am very astonished because a friend is using this theme too (basic without any add on ) and he has the opportunity to set links, colours or fonts. Is there a need to set options and where? I will be very thankful for help.

Frustrated regards from Germany
