If you want to change just the menu colors, try adding this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor to change menu colors in the Comet theme:

I was wondering if there is a way to change the menu bar colour in this theme? I have very little experience with CSS, but if it's possible I want to change the colour to something that goes a little better with my header image.

It's been moved in the Publish meta box. If you click "Edit" link next to "Mode" there is a "theme's CSS" link where you can see the original theme's CSS. Screenshot

Is there another place to see the style sheets now? Maybe on the individual theme details pages?

Note that this will adjust all image widgets in the right sidebar, if you want to add more image widgets later and you don't want the new ones to have collapsed spacing, then you can adjust the CSS to only affect specific image widgets. For now though, the CSS example above is quick and easy based on the content you've added so far.

Note that you can adjust the padding value to move the image down further.

Also, the ".page-id-8" part of the selector means that the CSS example above will just affect the CSS on the http://instinctiveminds.com.au/beta-release-technique/ page only. To find ".page-id-8", I viewed the page source and looked at the the "body" tag for that page.

Sincèrement je trouvais justement cela très cogérent d'avoir juste le TITRE et l'extrait de l'article (une fois que l'utilisateur du site ai cliqué sur la catégorie qui l'intéresse) c'est justement pour faciliter les recherches des personnes qui n'aiment pas galérer sur un blog; pour les personnes qui aiment les informations rapides et claires...

C'était ce que je préférais dans les thèmes que j'ai choisi, c'est d'ailleurs pour cette raison que je les choisissais.

Pourquoi ne pas en avoir été prévenu et SURTOUT pourquoi ne pas avoir donné une possibilité de choix!!?

If you want to trim the content, you can always use more tag to control how much contents for each post to show on archive page.

The "more" tag is not the same as a custom excerpt. Custom excerpts allow the blogger to write exactly what he or she wants to use as a summary, including choosing a smaller picture which can be aligned differently from arbitrarily truncating a post.

The reasons for this change is that we've received a fair amount of requests from users who want to display posts on archive pages in the same way as on posts page, and we believe this is better for consistency.

I've not seen folks asking for such a change in these forums. With the custom excerpt feature it was/is possible to copy the whole content of a post (text editor) to the excerpt module so if someone wanted whole posts in categories and archives they could have them. (except for embeds and shortcode).

IMO making this change allows for less blogger control of what is published. Is it possible to make custom excerpts a feature we could opt in to use?

I suppose another way would be to use a single text box widget and create the HTML that links to the self hosted images that themselves link to the social network pages, I think you are hosting them yourself anyway, stick them in your block and set up the images to link to the extrenals

Please, can you post here a list of themes visualizing excerpts in the category/tag pages? The page I found includes Comet too, therefore it is not upgraded
