The alignment issue would still be a problem on any post where the likes section went to two or three lines, or more, since the positioning of the "leave a comment" text would be done off the very bottom of the div, below the likes. The only way to keep that from happening would be to put it at the very bottom below the likes section, and that wouldn't be a good place for your visitors.

I don't see a clean way to do it.

The leave a comment text in that link generally changes to X comments after a comment is made (with X being the number of comments).

Since the block of meta data at the left of the post where the comments link is, is in a separate div from the post content, keeping it aligned where you want it will be difficult. As likes go to two or three lines - or more - the comments link will not shift with it since it sits outside of the post content div. If the comment link is shifted to the right to appear in the post content area, it can also mean other things will run over it, again such as in the case of likes going to two or three lines.

Text could be added to the comments link text using CSS, but the original text cannot be changed. It can be hidden and then new text added via a before or after CSS trick if you wished to do that.

Hi there

I would be greatful grateful if you could help me resolve the following issue. I'm using the Elemin theme and I would like to move the "Leave a comment" link from the left hand side of the post to the bottom of the post. Next to that link I would like a link that says "Read other comments". Ideally the appearence of those links would be the same as the "Share this" "Like this" text that already sits below the posts.

Thank you very much in advance for your time.

Regards!

Thank you so much, and Happy New Year!

Those suggestions took care of the problems. Before, if I made the widget titles a normal size, the post title was billboard sized.

The 0to255 website will be very helpful since I feel like experimenting with colors these days.

If you have time for one other question, I tweaked the email subscribe button a few days ago by copying someone's modification for a different blog theme. It worked for elemin but changed the shape from rounded corners to a regular rectangle.
I couldn't see in the style sheet where to change the elemin button color, which has a nicer shape that I'd like to keep.
I could post this question under a different topic if necessary.

Hello WP gurus,

I'm using the elemin theme with custom upgrade for my political-culture.com blog and have run into some obstacles.

First, I would like to make the post titles smaller and the widget titles on the right (recent posts, categories, etc) larger, but they are both h1 headers. If I make the first smaller, the second become microscopic. I wasn’t able to find anything in the css that could explain the size difference if they’re coded the same. Can you help?

Second, I’d like to make the “leave a comment” link text larger and maybe a different color so it doesn’t disappear on the page (at the bottom of the tags and categories). What I tried was changing the font size under “Post Metadata and Post Format Icons”:

.entry-meta a {
font-size: 13px;
font-style: normal;
font-variant: small-caps;
text-decoration: none;
}

but that made all of those tags, etc. larger, too, which defeated the purpose. Can you recommend something I could try?

Thanks for your help!

I am using the "Forever" theme, and I love it, however I'm not so impressed with the comments link, i.e. when someone leaves a comment, at the top of the post a # appears in a speech bubble, and clicking this will take you to the comments.

I would prefer that the # is followed by "Commen(s)"

ex. "2 Comments", as opposed to just "2"

I would also like there to be text when there are no comments that reads: "Be the first to comment" as opposed to the little speech bubble being blank as it is now.

Is there ANY way to change this using CSS is the custom CSS form?

Thanks

Thanks for sending that over... still wishing there was a way that the like count could show at the top of posts similar to how comment count does.

Would be awesome to have that option in the share settings. For now it looks like it is just above comments when viewers go to actual post and read through it.

@ timethief that is a very good point. I agree that comments have the value to add to disussion.

So maybe instead if you want the option it could be a setting you turn on when you turn on the like button that says:

Show like count on all of posts.
