I am also having the same issue, I will recieve notifications of comments people make on my blog posts but I no longer recieve notifications of responses to comments I have made on other peoples posts. I also use the WordPress app for IPhone and I will recieve the push notifications but when I open up the app and check the notifications tab nothing is there. No more orange box either and overall notifications seem like they are very delayed in appearing. I have talked to many other people and they are experiencing the same issue and its only been happening for about a week.

I don't get any reply notifications anymore. I know there is the comments I've made section

but before - the text box in the right orange would lit up orange, notifying me whenever someone replied to a comment I made.

It was a very handy feature. How do I get this back?

Sorry for the delay. The notification strings will be added on the long-term, there's no estimated time for now. We've registered your suggestion and will keep it in mind for future features and updates!

I'm trying to find the following sentence, which can be found at the end of a comment notification email.

You can reply to this comment via email as well, just click the reply button in your email client.

I've sorted and searched GlotPress but can't seem to find it. Can you give me a permalink?

I realizeded I might have been logged in differently when I made a couple of those comments. Understandably I would then get notifications of those "visitor" comments. But a look at the addresses on the emails shows that although one or two were from my alter ego, some were also from my main address/ID.

(Going to eliminate those alter egos to prevent that from happening again.)

The notifications appear on the list you mention. There are options to trash or delete them, but I was afraid those meant remove the comment from the blog post, and I don't want to do that.

I do have several user names on the account, but I am logged in under the name that registered the blog.

Don't know what I did, if anything, but suddenly I'm getting email notifications when I make comments on my own blog. I don't want them; they clutter my inbox. I only want to know when visitors comment.

How do I stop these notifications of my own comments?

@timethief - sorry - tiredness made me read your previous comment wrong! :)

@nikkojii - a much, much better way of doing things is to turn off comment notifications completely and either subscribe to an RSS comment feed or put a folder on your desktop and drag into it the URLs of blogs you comment in and just revisit them from time to time.

Oh this is ridiculous. So now my choice is to leave a comment and get 71 email notifications or none? What was wrong with only getting notifications the way it /first/ happened - i.e. if someone comments on /my/ comment I hear about it?

Wow thanks for the quick reply.

I am an admin at a site, but not the owner of the site and so cannot list the url.

However - I have been asked to see if I can disable the moderator alerts that are emailed to post authors.

The reason beign is that the owners want only editors or admin to moderate comments and the authors do understand this rule, but do not want to continue to receive the email.

It seems there is no quick option withing the dashboard for an author to disable email alerts.

I commented out the code within wp_notify_postauthor() and just returned false in the file pluggable.php, but still post authors receive these emails.

Ideas?

I'm looking for the opposite action - I DO NOT want Post Authors to receive email Moderation alerts. How can I override this? I see that Admin have the ability to change this under the discussion tab - but authors do not.

Any Ideas?
