I technically have three blogs on wordpress. Two visible and one hidden: http://halepetdoordealernews.wordpress.com which redirects to http://halepetdoordealernews and http://halepetdoorpettips.wordpress.com which redirects to http://halepetdoorpettips.com but when I look in my user account I see a third blog which is hidden but has the same blog address as the pet tips one. The blog name is halepetdoorpettips and the address is http://halepetdoorpettips.wordpress.com. The visible blog name is Hale Pet Door Pet Tips with the same address. I see where I can change the blog address and the user name that are attached to the hidden blog. If I do that will it also affect the visible blog which currently has the same blog address or does wordpress view them as two different entries and I can change one without affecting the other? I would like to change the user name on the account and the hidden blog but I don't want to accidentally mess up or destroy the active blog.

Are you referring to the blog linked to your username? I'm asking because it does not have any content. That's usually an indication that a person is posting to the wrong support forum.

We have two blogs on wordpress.com and both of them say they are connected to our facebook page. My coworker went through the setup process and clicked on all the "allow" questions when asked. We have been posting on the blog and the twitter publicize works fine but not the facebook publicize process. So we went through the support section and tried disconnecting and reconnecting as described. The problem is that we don't have a personal profile on Facebook but rather a business page. When we are logged in as a business we don't have a link to the privacy settings that we need to access to disconnect wordpress from the facebook end. When we disconnect the link from the wordpress end and then try to reconnect it just happens automatically and never asks the initial allow questions again. We think the two are actually disconnected since the posts aren't appearing. Any suggestions how we can fix this since we can't access the place we are supposed to on Facebook?

I am new to WordPress, How do I really get connected to people? How does my page end up on the main page of WordPress.com? Do I just get connected by visiting and commenting on sites, or will someone see my blog on the wordpress site?

does it matter whether I redirect traffic from keycommalaysia.wordpress.com to keycommalaysia.com first or move the contents of the wordpress.com blog to legacy.keycommalaysia.com first?

What happens to the content on a wordpress.com blog when the traffic is redirected ot a new and different self-hosted blog? Is it accessible through the wordpress.com user account and is it assigned some new generic address by default?

What we normally recommend is to make the WP.com blog private, which is what I've done with mine. Theoretically, setting it so it's not accessible by search engines should accomplish what you want.

Better yet: import only a snippet, ie set your feed to an excerpt rather than Full Posts, and then each external post has a Read More link that goes to your WP.com blog.

Oh, that won't carry over the comments, by the way. Nothing will except manually re-entering each comment with the email etc.

It's not complicated.

But it IS a terrible idea.

Duplicating content like that will cause Google and every other search engine to essentially throw BOTH blogs off a cliff in terms of ranking. It will not just not help you; it will actively destroy whatever search engine ranking you've built up over time.

As for how to do it, the solution is to go the other way: post to WP.com first, and feed it via iFrame or RSS scrape directly into your other blog.

I would like to do the following:

Once keycommalaysia.wordpress.com is established and has a following, I will create a new self-hosted blog:

keycommalaysia.com

I want to redirect traffic from keycommalaysia.wordpress.com to keycommalaysia.com

I know how to do that:

But I still want to keep the wordpress.com blog and I want to "park" the contents of the wordpress.com blog at legacy.keycommalaysia.com

I also know how to do that:

I will be posting to the self-hosted blog once it is active.

What I want to do is to have the wordpress.com blog(which would then be at legacy.keycommalaysia.com) be updated automatically with posts and comments in real time.

That is my question, but I would also like ot hear general advice or suggestions and if anyone else has tried something similar.

Why do I want to do this? Without going into too much detail, This is long term thinking: I would like to test how successful the blog could be without paying for hosting and then after doing self-hosted for a while, might decide to revert back to the wordpress.com blog but I still want to keep the contents and keep it active without a hitch.

I hope this is not too complicated a question.

I use a Google toolbar and it has translation built into it. Whenever I click into a site that's not in English I click the button and the text is translated into English for me. Another wordpress.com blogger brought this free translation widget he has in his blog to my attention

Is it possible to have my blog (English) automatically translated into other languages on the net so that people (who may not know many, or any English words), in other countries will find them through the (translated) tags?
Not sure how Wrinkly Writers translates (probably a bit of a laugh) but it sure would give me tremendous pleasure to know I am being read all over the world. (What every author dreams of!)
