I don't know of you'd be able to help with the white space down the ride hand side where my round corners button are ? It appears to cut them off but no amount of tweaking seems to fully show them ?

I've tweeked and edited all sorts of things I thought it could be but haven't been successful. Ideally I'd like to see in place of this white bar the patterned background ... hope this makes sense and someone can help !

I am completely new to this and am probably about to ask a very silly question....

Is there a way of adding a container on top of a background image in the Structure Theme?
My blog currently has an image in the background and I would like to add a white container/box so that the content of my articles can be legible.

One thing to keep in mind is that a good number of people are on slower internet connections (1.5Mbps or slower) and they simply will not wait for 2 or 3 minutes for your site to load. They will just click away.

Secondly, the search engines consider page loading times when determining search engine ranking, and they are going to heavily discount your search engine ranking because of the very slow loading times, and the overall total size of the page (including the images).

Since I have not let your page load, I cannot determine if you are optimizing your images for the web, so there might be that issue as well.

After doing that, post back here and let me know and then I will take a look.

I am trying to make that white areas into a semitransparent background so that the background image shows through a little bit. Ive been trying stuff for hours now and have only gotten it to a point where the entire thing is transparent.. header side bars and all.

Im working on making the theme into something that will match my youtube page a bit:

Does anyone know where and what code I need to put? Am I editing the css or the php files?

Recently, I made my website temple for wordpress. My template can be seen here (http://justinledelson.com) Here is it for wordpress (http://justinledelson.com/wordpress/).

As you can see, my container didnt stretch to fit all my posts. I think this is because the posts are put there just by a simple php tag and the css dosnt know how long to stretch.

here is my container css:

I am aware that if i make the min-height more, it will fit. But I want the container to stretch with the WordPress posts.

I don't know if you'll read this but.... Your gravatar looked familiar and after checking your current blog, I remembered where I 'saw' you before. In another thread, I gave you some code to fix your post dates issue. That's another good example of why "container" is necessary/helpful.

I found this very helpful too and simpler.

The way I see it, the "container" allows you to, well... contain the contents element, and makes it easy for you to manipulate the "content"'s relative position when dealing with a 3 column layout; otherwise, the sidebars would overlap with your contents area.

Since the sidebars are at the bottom of the contents, you need to manipulate their position by playing with their floats and margins. If you didn't have the "container", you wouldn't be able to give a left margin to your contents element wide enough to "hold" your "primary" sidebar, otherwise like I said before, your elements would overlap and look messy.

One of my 3 column skins is coded this way, feel free to study its code (and play with it, if you wish) to have a better understanding on how this works.

I'm designing a new layout using Sandbox-10 and I'm trying to understand the relationship between the container and content divs. It seems to be redundant. The content div is inside the container but nothing else is in the container except what's inside the content div.

I know I must be missing something but I don't know what.
