Then you need to head over to WordPress.ORG and make friends - driving traffic to other sites will get your blog suspended as will the pay per click stuff and affiliate links that you would need to use - you will need to hire a host and use the WordPress.ORG software

Thanks for your reply. I havent developed the site yet, I'm doing some initial research to figure out whether the concept is possible to achieve using wordpress.

Hi,

I'm building a website which will steer traffic to large online retailers. I am using a word press theme and wanted to know if there is a widget that would enable me to track click throughs and any conversions to sales for customers who came via my site.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I had used the self-hosted version of the theme balloons but it came with some major bugs.
Perhaps my question should be stated differently.
This is a fresh install of the self-hosted balloons theme:

I am getting title tag errors.
Posts that aren't centered and unbordered.

Its as if pieces of the CSS are missing on the self-hosted theme.
Its not a fully functional theme.

Should I create a new thread for this?

Unfortunately, the Load More Posts button and Follow My Blog are features I need to implement on the self-hosted blog.

Are there plug-ins from word-press that match these exactly?

Hi there!

You may have luck grabbing the original self-hosted version of the theme: http://moargh.de/portfolio/downloads/wp-theme-balloons/

Things like the Load More Post button and the Follow My Blog are specific to WordPress.com and won't appear on a self-hosted blog, so you don't have to worry about them.

I'm curious if anyone has had any difficulties with moving this theme over.
The SQL export incorrectly pushes the featured images section into the post content box which messes up CSS layout as well as how the images are displayed.
Also, the CSS is apparently coming from some external CSS document that my self-hosted site doesn't retrieve. In order to save myself time I'd rather ask to see if anyone has found a more graceful method for converting all the CSS code rather than recreating it all to match what the original theme displays.

Specifics:
The Load More Post button is being built with CSS that isn't on my site.
The Follow my Blog via email box at the bottom is also using CSS that I don't have access to.

Anyone have better solutions for moving this theme over?

Hello, I am trying to move my wife iWeb blog over to a WordPress.com blog she is setting up. I am trying to follow the instructions in a post on the forum, but running into an issue.

It states I should do the following:

'2 - Go to the Library/Application Support/iWeb folder in your home directory ( this is located at /users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/IWeb ) and make a copy of the file named Domain.sites2 that you will find there. Store this copy in a different folder.'

I can locate the iWeb file in App. Support, but there is no Domain.sites2 file, only a Domain and a Domain Backup file.

I am not doing something correctly?

Hello all.
I was wondering if there was a plug-in or some method to convert regular posts to a custom post type automatically?
I'm currently using AutoBlogged to post RSS feed, but I would rather be that the posts be of another type. From my knowledge, I can't designate AutoBlogged to have the posts be of another type, so I am unsure of what to do.
Is this possible?
I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section - this is my first time using WP forums!

From Tools>
Tools-Categories and Tags Converter>
Import-Categories and Tags Converter>which will bring you to a page "Convert Categories to Tags" with a list of all the available Categories which can be converted to tags.

At the top of that page there's also two buttons>Categories to Tags (default-the page you are on) and Tags to Categories.

You need to then click on the third option from the top: "Categories and Tags Converter Convert existing categories to tags or tags to categories, selectively."

After reading this(http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/#converting-categories-to-tags) article I tried to follow the directions, but when I click on "Categories can be selectively converted to tags using the category to tag converter." it takes me to "http://stevebroskey.wordpress.com/wp-admin/import.php" - and the hyperlink of the original text reads to that URL.

[Having just imported a few blogger blogs, all the tags came in as categories and I had been converting them by hand - automation sounds so much nicer...]

On a Mac (specifically OS X 10.6 or higher), I prefer to use QuickTime's "Save for Web" feature, available under the File menu. Make sure that you choose to export the video for "Computer."

The pages aren't the best from a web designer's standpoint. Look around the pages carefully. The tags to categories converter button is at the top of the one page.

Go to the tools menu and then click on "tools" and you will find a link to the category to tag converter. If you click on that link, you will also find a tag to category converter.

Strange! I want to convert some tags to categories but when I try to use this feature in 'Tools' page I am directed to 'Import'. It's weird!
I did this many times... even tried to open the converter in a different page but all fails.

No no no...my issue isn't that I want it to appear in the Pages tab.

It's that I want to remove it from the feed and make at an actual, static page with. I want people following the link to the dated feed post to be redirected to a page with the same content.

I am not simply worried about whether it appears as a link like other pages.
