Hi,
Does it make a difference if the tags are enter one at a time or copy and pasted as a group?

After I have written a post I go back and get whatever tags I have associated with the post and I copy them into Word. Once I have all the tags, perhaps 10-30 I copy and paste as a group into Titan’s Quick Edit. Does it affect the search engines in anyway by doing it this way.

It’s a question that has been driving me crazy….

After a lot of searching on the web, I realized there isn't a way of moving my iWeb MobileMe hosted blog to WordPress it seems. I have a rss but it's only 7 blogs. My blog is about 150 blogs. So, I've decided to bite the bullet to copy and paste my blog over. My question is whether I can change the date to match the original date it was blogged?

1) cutting and pasting isn't legal
2) cutting and pasting doesn't work.

The legal position is that you must get permission in writing from the copyright owner before you can use images. Then you can download them from their site, upload them into your site, and put them in your post, usually with credit. Credit can be given either by text, eg "photo by Goron" with a link to the source website OR you can link the image to the source website.

The practice, which is widespread but not technically legal, is to download the image, upload it to your website, use it in your post with proper credit as above, but without getting permission first. Never, ever forget the link to the source site.

I am new here and have searched the forums for the answer to my dilemma. Although some discussions touch on this topic, I don't see a clear answer. I have a fashion blog and I want to be able to post pictures of designers, new looks, celebrities wearing certain designers, looks I want to comment on out of online catalogs... etc. How do I copy and paste images legally and correctly? Do I copy and paste the URL from the location that I got the image from below the image....is that all it takes? I am so tired of trying to figure this out that I went ahead and did a post on Lady Gaga and linked it to the website I retrieved it from. If that's wrong then I will remove it.

I was testing Firefox 4 and I noticed that I was able to directly cut-and-paste an image from the Windows XP Clipboard into a WordPress New Post UI, and firefox does its magic by encoding the PNG. However upon publishing, WordPress is messing a html definition for a Base 64 Encoded PNG.

Here is what the correct html for Base64 Encoded PNG should like:

<img src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAABIAAAATCAIAAAAS8MqlAAAAGElEQVQ4jWNoYPhPBmIY1TaqbVTbMNUGAOgB/7pVXBoXAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC" alt="" />

here is what WordPress produces:

<img src="image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAABIAAAATCAIAAAAS8MqlAAAAGElEQVQ4jWNoYPhPBmIY1TaqbVTbMNUGAOgB/7pVXBoXAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC" alt="" />

Note: data is missing in wordpress parsed html. I even tried to add it using HTML editor, but wordpress still strips it out. See http://doctrina.wordpress.com/2010/10/16/image-copy-and-paste-from-clipboard-in-firefox/ for an example.

Is this something that can be fixed? This will provide much needed copy-and-paste directly from windows clipboard to WordPress. No more saving a screenshot to desktop and then attach it to wordpress.

i've seen that alot and if that is the case then I guess a large % of wp.com users and other places are doing illegal things too (unknowingly).

feel free to post a link to the wp.com rules on that or even better a mention of a law website or any other reliable & verifiable source. That just does'nt make sense to me unless its a online urban legend or something. I've been online for a few years now and seen tons of dozens of articles, sites, webspages, but thats the first time i've heard of that...which is VERY odd

Hello all, here's the deal when I first started posting articles of interested or something I found elsewhere I aways would copy n paste it to post, the links that shown on whatever page i was pasting would post automatically post as well, now they dont. Therefor I have to add the links manually (tick toc tic toc) to each post when i`m trying to show a source, we always credit our sources by stating where we found it at and so on ;) for instance today I seen an article on yahoo and wanted to post it, normally i could just right click and select all, copy and paste it and presto it all shows in the post even the text links from the original.
