Hi there!

For some reason, the payment went through, but the domain was never registered.

I've applied $18 in credit to your account and you can process the domain registration by going to Store -> Domains in your site's dashboard. Enter "indeayoga.com" into the field and click "add domain to blog". The credit on your account will let you process this transaction without needing to add the payment information again.

Sorry for the inconvenience! Let me know if you still have trouble.

Solved! I woke up very early this morning and suddenly realized what the trouble had to be.

In fiddling with things when I was having trouble with the sharing icons showing up, I had to turn off Adblock Plus -- which solved that problem -- but I decided to turn off "accept third party cookies" as well so that ad cookies would have a lesser chance of landing on my computer. Duh! Without third party cookies, the wordpress.com log in isn't going to persist when I go to a custom domain! So I turned them back on, and all is well now.

Thanks -- for some reason, on the first post I made, my additional comments were screened out, the ones that explained the bit about it only being on custom domains, etc. Also, I didn't realise until I got done typing that the button to submit didn't go to Support, but to the forum. I decided that since it was a better description of what was happening, I'd go ahead & submit it.

It is frustrating, and I appreciate your sympathy! I will be patient & hope that the queue of modlook threads gets some movement. :-)

All day, whenever I go from my administration area to my blog, http://mmadfan.com, it appears as though I am logged out. I see no admin bar at the top, the "meta" links shows "log in" and "Blog at WordPress.com" rather than the logout & admin links that are usually there when I'm logged in, and there are no Edit links on posts or pages.

When I view my test blogs, which retain the "wordpress.com" in their url, I do see the admin bar and everything else that indicates that I'm logged in. If I go to, for example, Freshly Pressed, and visit another blog that has its own domain name, again, I appear to be logged out, but if I visit a site that has "wordpress.com" in its url, I see all evidence that I'm logged in.

It's also clear that I'm not logged out since when I come to Support or the Forums, I can see the black admin bar and it also shows me as logged in & recognizes who I am.

I am using Firefox 19, and I've cleared my cache and cookies. I also have Adblock turned OFF for all wordpress.com sites and for all of mmadfan.com, since Adblock was causing me not to be able to see any of the sharing links earlier in the week. In hopes that it might be some other Firefox extension causing this, I did try starting Firefox with the extensions disabled, but nothing changed.

Do you have any other suggestions for me? I'd really appreciate some help with this strange problem. :-) Thanks! (Only after typing this whole thing did I see that this form no longer contacts staff but has a button "Ask the Community for Support" -- so apologies for this question showing up a third time today -- and I don't know why the updates on my original post weren't showing to anyone but me when they added new information; it's frustrating.)

"Nerts" is my favorite word for the day!

Okay, I've narrowed down the problem.

My black admin bar disappears only on blogs that have their own domain name -- I double-checked on your blog, which I'd visited earlier today, and confirmed the bar is missing for me, but when I went to a blog that is a name.wordpress.com site, the black bar is there -- which is why I could see it on my test blogs.

I'm using Firefox 19.something -- didn't it seem like just yesterday that we were in Firefox 4? -- I am considering uninstalling & reinstalling the browser, or jumping back to 18. I've had problems -- all with WordPress, as far as I know -- since updating, and I am wondering if it's just that Firefox is having problems with WP. It's strange & annoying. I even tried restarting the browser with no extensions enabled and it didn't help.

When I log into my account on WordPress, I can easily access all my admin options from my dashboard, however as soon as I go to my blog, I appear to be logged out -- even though I am not (for example, when I come to this forum, I'm already logged in, and if I go directly to my admin page by typing in the address, I don't have to log in again).

The black admin bar does not appear at the top of my blog, nor do I see the "edit" option after each individual post or page. I also don't appear to be logged in when I visit another WP blog -- though I haven't attempted to post a comment to see whether I'm recognised as a logged-in user.

I'm wondering if this is a Firefox issue. I have ad-blocker disabled for my blog and for all wordpress.com sites, since that had been causing me problems earlier in the week, but other than a Greasemonkey script, which I tried turning off to see if it made any difference, and it didn't, I don't have any extensions that could be affecting this -- and the exact same ones that I've always run (NoRedirect, colorzilla, tab mix plus, and a couple others).

Has anyone else encountered this problem? It's irksome since if I want to edit a page, it takes longer to find the page in the "All Pages" area of my dashboard/admin pages than it does to simply click "edit" while I'm on the page (or post). I also miss the navigation options that normally drop down from the black bar.

I also do see a black admin bar at the top of the support & forums pages, such as this one, but once I use it to go back to my blog (using the dropdown from my username on the right), the bar vanishes again. I'm perplexed!

Hi Molli, if you want your custom domain onceuponaprologue.com to show the content of your blog onceuponaprologue.wordpress.com, then you need a Domain Mapping upgrade rather than a Site Redirect (Site Redirect forwards from onceuponaprologue.wordpress.com to onceuponaprologue.com, which is the opposite of what you want).

I have removed your Site Redirect and added $13 in credits instead so that you can purchase a Domain Mapping.

Please go to your domain registrar's site (ENOM) and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:

NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Then, you'll need to purchase the Domain Mapping (with credits) under Store > Domains.

For more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:

Last year I blogged at http://www.onceuponaprologue.blogspot.com, and started thinking about moving to WordPress. In the meantime, I registered http://www.onceuponaprologue.com using Blogger's custom domain option. Recently preparing to move to WordPress I did two things: created http://www.onceuponaprologue.wordpress.com and transferred my http://www.onceuponaprologue.com to Enom, thus making them my host. (I realize it was always somewhat registered through Enom via Google Apps.)

On Wednesday (of this last week) I mapped my wordpress.com blog to my http://www.onceuponaprologue.com. My DNS settings are currently pointing to WordPress's as instructed in the WP help on mapping to a custom domain. However, my domain is not showing up. I realize it takes awhile to propagate but it seems like (if I did everything correctly) I should be able to see http://www.onceuponaprologue.com. I'm getting a bit frustrated and hope someone can shed some light on what I may have done wrong.

I didn't revoke access at my Blogger blog from pointing to http://www.onceuponaprologue.com and I'm wondering if that could have anything to do with it? Currently in my settings there, I still have my original Blogger blog redirecting to my http://www.onceuponaprologue.com

Thanks in advance!

To make domain mapping for onceuponaprologue.com. to show as the address when people visit your site you only need the basic domain mapping and change the name servers to point to WordPress.COM - you don't need any Cname, MX records etc to be changed

You only change the DNS settings if you have some special things like email with your domain name

Yes when things go whacky with the name server changes it can be a bit scary - just change the name servers then take a long walk and keep the faith
