I'd like one of my menu items to direct readers to my blog, which is also hosted on WordPress. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this and wonder if someone can advise. I tried using html redirect code. I also found the "custom links" option under "appearance" which sometimes does nothing but sometimes causes everything else, aside from "blog," to disappear from my menu. I use Foxfire, by the way. The website in question is alisonclement.org. The blog (I'm trying to link the website's menu item "Blog" directly to it) is alisonclement.wordpress.com. Thanks so much- alison

Also, can I just check that actually creating multiple blogs is the only way of achieving this (i.e. being able to post entries on each different page) or can I do it with just one account somehow?

Whoops! If you are referring to your free hosted WordPress.com blog then you can do that. Create a custom menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ and include custom links http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-custom-links as menu items in it.

Hi,
I'd like to have several buttons along the top of my site, each one linking to a different blog, much like the PS3/ PSP/ PSN/ PS Vita buttons at the top of this page: http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/ps3/

Does anybody know how I'd go about doing that please?

Hi.
you should be able to have all your menus, sub menus and the link to another web site, and you can do it with customize menus:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

-Scroll down to add customize links.
-Right below that is the instructions "changing the menu order and sub menus".

Note that you have slide a submenu to the right under the parent menu, when building your menu graphically.

after all that make sure you "Activate" your menu". the instructions are further down the support page.

basically: add your new menu button for your link.
graphically rebuild your menu.

I've just created a new blog http://www.thedailypost.me that I want to be on the menu bar of my principle blog http://www.aslowjourney.wordpress.com but the only way I seem able to add it is through custom Links if I change the Theme Menu from blank to 'A Slow Journey'. But if I do that for some strange reason all my sub-headings disappear from 'Photography' and 'Cuisine' for example.

Do I have to choose between sub-menus or having a link to an external site on my menu bar, or is there any way around it? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Do understand that the static pages you created need to be deleted and replaced by custom links in a custom menu.

Yes. You can set up not pages but custom links in a custom menu to accomplish this.

I want to create page titles for fb, pinterest, etsy and twitter on my blog. I would like it to work so that people will click on the title on the menu/page bar and it will take them straight to my other pages in a separate window. Is this possible on WordPress? I have seen many blogs set up like this but just cannot figure it out. Thanks for your help!

I've been trying to add a custom menu - when I add a page it works fine but as per the guide I am trying to add a custom link to take visitors to an outside page as well as a category page and neither is showing up on my new menu on the home page?

I am trying to create a custom menu and I am using woocommerce. What I want to do is only have one menu tab for this shop called 'shop' then all other pages as a sub menu. Like this...

Shop
- Cart
- Check Out

However, when I do this and use the custom links option it doesn't work. Without the custom link it looks at webaddress.com/shop/cart but I need it to look at webaddress.com/cart/. I assume I should be able to use the custom link to set it up to point to webaddress.com/cart/, and when I do set this up and put my mouse over the sub menu (without clicking) I see the address webaddress.com/cart/ appear on the lower left of the chrome browser. When I click on the link though it takes me to webaddress.com/shop/cart/. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Imbalance 2 allows 2 menus for navigating through your blog.
The menu you have now includes links to pages:
Participants, Profiles, Schedule, Links
(some of which include nested chile pages)

To add a link to another site, you can make a custom menu:

This is the result of clicking your username:

dzhulunitsabg.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this blog.

Please link your primary WordPress.com blog to your WordPress.com username. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Then every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

Some bloggers like to create more than one blog ie. one for each langauage. Then they create and use custom menus with custom links to link the blogs to each other.

We can set a single language for our blogs here > Settings > General. We cannot use Google Translate widgets or any JavaScript widgets on WordPress.com blogs but there is a workaround for creating a translation page. I have a translation page and a translation widget.

To correct this, go to Appearance > Menus, open those two custom links, type # in the URL field, click Save Menu.

I'm seeing the same thing you do using Firefox 8. However, as I said above I don't use this theme so I'm not aware of what may have changed. I have flagged this thread for Staff attention. It will be moved to the Theme Forum where Themes Staff can reply to you.
