Thanks for all your help. I think I am going to try just the custom upgrade.

I think my menu will be the biggest challenge, but I have seen it modified for another bueno user. I just really want to be able to include my fire survivors logo, which I will design. This might mean that I will have make it part of the custom header image.

If you're afraid of totally messing up the site, you do not want WP.org. The Custom Design upgrade here includes staff support to make the changes you require. Given enough assistance, all of the changes you require are doable (depending on HOW you want to change menu navigation; that's not a CSS function at all).

I am interested in altering my blog in the upcoming future and I am not sure if I should do the custom upgrade or switch to wordpress.org ( I have read the support pages, but I am still unsure). The only problem is that I have basic knowledge in html and css, I am afraid that I will totally mess up the site.

For my current blog I use the bueno theme. From what I understand I can alter the custom header, but I am wondering if I could put a logo on top of the image? I read a recent forum post, but I am still confused.

Also, am I allowed to adjust the content width? Will I be able to change the menu navigation? Does anyone know how the containers are set up? Can I make separate boxes for each post and for the different elements on the side bar (ie: top posts)? Also, would I be able to make these into a background image that has texture? Any feedback and links would be greatly appreciated. Inspiration would also be helpful. Thanks for your support.

@julievanhuizen, what is happening is that the Custom Colors feature has some built in contrast rules to try to help keep the text readable for people with impaired vision and for accessibility reasons. If you select a color that is too close to the background color or that is programmatically determined to be too hard to read, the color gets adjusted.

It's possible to override the color contrast rules using custom CSS. Here is an example that adjusts all of the things Custom colors adjusts for link and heading color, except you need to copy and paste it into your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor:

a,
#nav-above a,
.fetch a,
.entry-meta a,
#site-info a {
	color: #f58026;
}

.menu ul a,
#reply-title,
.entry-title,
.page-title,
.post_title,
.post_title h1,
.post_title h2,
#comments-title,
#site-title a,
#site-title,
.widget-title a,
.widget-title,
.box h1,.box h1 a {
	color: #fec532;
}

I am trying to pick a new theme! We've been using the same one for a long time and transitioning from just a blog to a website. I really want the homepage to have large picture that slides 3-5 times. In picking a theme, I was looking at ones with a "Post slider." But, considering that I may or may not want these pictures to be posts or not, I'm wondering if what I'm looking for can be done with a theme that does not have a post slider by putting in a slideshow. I have been looking at themes for so very long, but sometimes all the options still make me dizzy. I really just want a theme with all the options I could possibly want, and then I'll edit it with the custom upgrade. "Newsy" seems like it would be good. Can I do a slider on the homepage with that one?

Howdy!

The short answer is, font rendering is controlled by the operating system and browser, and therefore not something we can change globally such that you can ensure all your users are seeing the exact same thing.

If you're using Windows XP, enabling ClearType might help:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306527

Or you might try a different font that renders more clearly on both operating systems.

But for the most part, fonts will look slightly different between Windows and Mac sometimes -- that's normal.

If you're seeing two totally different fonts between Mac & PC, can you post a screenshot so we can take a look? Thanks!

I've also had the link to the master CSS document disappear from the CSS page - so I'm not getting an important component of what I paid for.

Can I please request a refund of the $30 I paid for the upgrade to this theme? I will look for a another theme that will hopefully be easier for me to use and matches my purposes better.

Thank you for reporting the issue with the fonts page, we will look into that.

While that is being worked on, you can use Custom CSS to get around the problem. Please add the following to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page to change the body font size in the Sight theme:

.entry-content p,
.entry-content li,
.entry-content dd,
.entry-content dt,
.entry-content pre,
.entry-content address,
.entry-content div,
.entry-content kbd,
.entry-content tt,
.entry-content var {
	font-size: 20px;
}

I need help with CSS codes on Sight theme. I'd like to change the font size of the post text. I have the upgrade and I tried doing it via custom fonts. The font changed but the size of the text remains the same. I'd like to change it to a bigger font size. Hope someone here can help! Thanks!
