Hi!

I have suggested two translations (Load more posts and You are following this blog), and only "Load more posts" has been deployed, the other one is still waiting. Does anybody know how long it will take for a translation to be deployed?

You can suggest the Danish translation for "You are following this blog" here.

You cannot alter that text in WordPress.com blogs, with some snippet, it can be altered in self hosted blogs.

I set my langauge settings to Danish. In the blog, however, only some of the standard interface headers and links are translated. Below the header in each post, "Write a comment" is translated to "Skriv en kommentar", but below the post it is in English (Leave a comment). Also other text parts are displayed in English, like "Entries from februar 2010", "Entries categorized as ‘blah blah blah’", "Older Entries" and so on.

Is there a way I can change this? Or could I help the WordPress team with some general translation?

I concur with all here, google translate is a good idea on WordPress. I was hoping to get that running too, but ran across the same problems. A link is ok I suppose but is would be nice to see the transition right on the blog.
I would also cast a vote for google analytics as well.

Java/scripts won't be allowed here, but if they want they can possibly create a site wide widget for an empty drop-down list which can be populated with text or links. However, the Google code for translation works fine, so there is no issue.

Yes, it was a dropdown box, that I meant.
I wrote it wrong.

Yesterday I tried to make a dropdown for this things, but the Text / HTML box didn't allowed it.
I think the Text / HTML box is only for text, and very simple codes, like links and pictures.
Nothing other.

I would love if WordPress.com could open for javascripts and so on, I do not believe there would be someone who would use it for anything criminal.
And if there were, they would indeed be able to do very small things.

If they finaly want to make some bad things for other people, I think they would start up their own site, because there is many free services, where you can make your all own website.

So please WordPress.com open for this feature! :-)

You can add a small text box which contains a scroll (you may have to search the archive here for the code). There was a suggestion for WordPress.com to provide an empty drop-down widget which can be populated with the text/links of choice. If we ever get one, I'd be the first one adding translation codes into it.

I think it's because the code is a javascript, and that is not allowed here at WordPress.com like iframe too.

But can't you make this widget available for use, as a widget on WordPress.com?

But when I'm trying to put it into a Text / HTML box in my sidebar, then are just typing the code on the blog, instead of showing the widget.

I'm getting this code from Google:

I have tried this many times before, what are the problem?

I got an idea when I was sitting and translated WordPress to Danish, yesterday.
Couldn't it be great with a Google Translate widget, where the owner of the blog can choose, what the 'from language' shall be.
And then the visiter at the blog, can change the 'to language', to a language they speak.

Example my blog is on Danish and then I could have the widget sitting in my sidebar on my blog, with settings set to Danish in the 'from language' and the visiter could choose example English as the 'to language'.

I know that the translation wouldn't be 100% correct, but then will be almost correct.

I know that you already can go to http://translate.google.com and set the URL address into the text-box and then, it will translate the hole page to the language you choose.

But with this widget, you will be available to translate the page, directly from the blog.

What do you think about this idea?
