You are introducing multiple HTML errors into your blog by cutting and pasting into the visual editor. Either paste into the Text editor or paste into Notepad then paste from there to your blog, so it strips out the invisible font tags.

To fix this, edit the post, click to the Text editor, and strip out all the span tags, every single one. Then update.

I like the default font I have with the 'Something Fishy' theme. However, I recently cut and pasted some posts from another source and now can't change them to my default font. How do I do that?

By chance, a week ago I was editing one of these cut and pasted posts and I noticed that sometimes, as I was writing, the default font took over. In the end, the default font spread to the whole page, which is precisely what I wanted. That's what I need again. Please help!

I just changed to a couple of other themes that has radically different fonts, then switched back to Twenty-Ten and the font corrected itself back to what looks like Serif or Times but, based upon the default theme font link it is actually Georgia. Obviously switching themes somehow messed up the CSS but how? And how do I prevent this from happening again? Very odd! Anyway, I appreciate your help and quick response.

Have you been changing the fonts on pages and posts in the blog by use of the Text (HTML) editor? Or Have you been copying and pasting content from elsewhere that has a different font? I'm asking those questions because these are the ways we can chnage fonts of free hosted WordPress.com blogs:

(1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

(2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

(3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Do you have a custom design upgrade and have you done any CSS editing?

CSS is theme specific. If you have custom CSS and later change themes, you need to delete whatever CSS you have in the Editor, otherwise, you’ll get undesired results.

To ‘reset’ a theme, you need to delete the CSS in the Editor, make sure the “add to existing CSS” radio button is checked, then save. Things should go back to normal.

Note: When you alter a theme’s stylesheet, you only need to put in the Editor the modification/additions to the CSS, not the entire thing.

I am using the Twenty-Ten theme ( cffishing.wordpress.com). It originally used the serif fonts but after a switched theme a few times and then came back to Twenty-Ten the font is courier. Furthermore, it seems to be stuck on courier as changing to other themes keeps the courier. Is there any way to restore Twenty-Ten back to its default font?
