Hi,

I know, I'm blonde and a girl and that's not a good combo but I've spent an hour trying to figure this out and as you can tell I'm not a tech person...

I'm trying to make my site multilingual and I have to install a plugin for that... Problem starts with installation as it says I have to "Upload the files to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory". Now I don't seem to have that.

Also when I checked the video on adding sites, etc the guy was going on about "Sites Network Admin" which again, I have no idea where to find.

You can laugh all you want but please help me!!!

Cheers

Hello
Yesterday I was hacked by some strangers. I've been advised to protect my " wp-admin " directory by usernames and passwords and I just did it. But there's a problem. Not only my " wp-admin" has been protected but also every single page and post of my website has been protected!
It means when a person visits my website and click on a post to read, a form appears and wants them to fill the username and password. That's not what I wanted. I just wanted the Cpanel to be protected not the public posts.

You can check the problem here :
http://canot.ir/?p=5069

How can I solve this problem?

And then for each post only have to click the name of the destination and the link, name and thumbnail will be on auto since it's already put into a directory.

Hi

I am looking for some sort of directory wordpress theme but I am not sure if what I am looking for exist or it may be a question about installing the right plugins so I apoligize if this is not the right forum for my question.

I would like to set up a website with a directory of MMA schools/clubs from all over the world. I need a theme where anyone can enter there contact details for their school/club (e.g. name, address, phone number, website etc.) so I don't personally have to sit and enter the details of each school as they submit their contact details. The directory would be categorise the schools according to continent and country and further sub-divided into regions or states of the particular country before the directory of schools from a particular city is listed (e.g. the city of Orlando in the state of Florida).

I would also like the theme to be able to do other things but this is the main thing the website will be about.

As I wrote in the bginning this may not be a question about fidning the right theme but more a question about identifying the right plugins. Feel free to advise me in any way approriate.

Regards,
Andreas

HI all, I have a question about URLs, htaccess, mod rewrite etc.

I have two sites i made recently. Both have all wordpress files in a seperate /wordpress directory. So to get into wp-admin, you need to type in /wordpress/wp-admin, as opposed to just /wp-admin after the url.

One site however still redirects to the admin login when I type in /wp-admin
after the home url.

The other gives me a 404 error, which is ideally what I want.

Im not sure why the other redirects straight to /wordpress/wp-admin login after typing in just "/wp-admin" after "www.website.com.au"

I want it to go to an 404 error page like the other website so that people cant just type in wp-admin. (not many people go as far as to type /wordpress/wp-admin)

I basically created these two sites simultaneously and the behavior is different. I know someone on here will know what this is straight away.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi there,

I'm looking to create an art directory that allows artists to set up purchase an area (post) which allows them to showcase their work and engage in communications with potential buyers.

I wonder if any of you out there know of a membership plugin that allows members to have a post auto-created when they sign up via PayPal as a member of my proposed directory?

It's also important for the users to have access to selected existing tags and categories for visitors to navigate to relevant artists, styles and locations e.g. impressionist, south wales etc.

Ideally, I'd like to create a template post too, so that new members to the directory could have a uniformed layout throughout.

Any help or advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated! I'm currently experimenting with S2Member but I'm getting a little frustrated.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

But WordPress.com says that "You can run any ads you’d like if you manage your own WordPress installation". That's why I bought my own domain.

I still don't understand why, if I bought my own domain, I can't have ads?

You cannot initiate any advertising on your blog. There is an advertising program called WordAds http://en.wordpress.com/apply-for-wordads/ and aside from it no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs.

Just purchased my own domain (mitsk2002.com. Used to be mitsk2002.wordpress.com) because I thought WordPress doesn't allow ad sense.

But now I cannot figure out how to use Plug Ins on my domain's WordPress Dashboard, so that I can paste the Google Ad Sense into a post's HTML. I already pasted Google Ad Sense's code into one of my posts, but it doesn't show up.

I keep reading that I need to "Upload adsense-plugin folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory", but I can't find this directory.

Please help!
