Although I am confident in my writing abilities, it is uber annoying to have every "like" notification be exaggerated with this"person thought your post was awesome." I mean, did they really think it was awesome or does WP think all bloggers have low self?
At any rate, I would suggest taking this off or at least adding options for the blogger to choose from.

This year WordPress has had a counter as a bar on the left side every time when I have posted a new post. Post number 307. Next goal 310 etc. It is so disturbing and it is taking away the motivation to write. Writing has nothing to do with quantity. I would like to get rid of this utterly annoying feature and I wish to know how to do it ...

For any help many thanks,
Arne Marco

It's just a cute way of saying "way to go, you've written another post". After 20 your next "goal" will be 25. You can write as many posts as you want, with as many words as you like. The Internet is just about infinite.

If you want to get rid of the goal-a-meter, go here:

Dashboard > Users > Personal Settings > Instant Post Feedback > unclick "Show the feedback and progress sidebar after posting".

Please let me get rid of the "next goal" in # of posts in sidebar! I have not set this goal myself, so it annoys me to no end to hear I have a fixed "next goal" to have round numbers of posts that I do not have yet (my own goal would be to, say, have fun, or to have X readers rather than write Y posts, anyway), and the whole popup-sidebar just takes up screen space pointlessly.

After adding a new post, I get a small screen on the left that tells me how many posts I have done, and how many to a certain goal. On the right it shows my blog.

Is there any way to configure my blog so that after I publish a post it either stays on the post, or goes to the dashboard or something?
