My blog is trentonthunderbaseball.wordpress.com

I am running a blog where I am going to be uploading about 5-6 minutes of audio every day. As a result, SoundCloud's free account will be useless to me after a couple months. So even though I am able to embed their audio player just fine, I'll run out of space very quickly.

I've found both Podsnack.com and YourListen.com to host my audio with an audio player that can be embedded into the blog. However, when I go into the HTML tab and paste the embed code, it disappears when I click "save changes".

I've read some other posts from the past and found that you need to be an Admin to post audio/video, and I am definitely listed as an Admin.

I'm also open to using the WordPress audio players, but I can't find a website that will produce URLs that end in .MP3

Any suggestions?

I can see it right now, too; that's not the problem. It's disappeared several times without any prompt on my end, and I have to re-set the image in my "header" settings on the dashboard. It's hard for me to post on a problem that isn't continuous. It just happens now and then, irregularly. I guess I'll just wait for it to disappear again, and then post. I thought maybe this had happened before with other blogs. Never mind. Thanks for your time.

Hello!

I'm working with the theme Bold Life, and I've made a custom header image that uploads fine, and works fine for about a week before mysteriously disappearing. The image is saved in my "header" options under appearance, but I have to re-select it every week or so in order for it to continue appearing. Weird?! Not sure how to fix this, or what would cause it. I've tried different browsers, Mac v. PC, and different image formats - it doesn't seem to correlate to any of these possibilities - just randomly disappears from the site every week or so. Help, please!

There is a long standing issue that Staff are aware of.

(5) Did you create the post or page on the dashboard of your blog? If were using the "Add New" on the main page for wordpress.com here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ then the draft is lost and cannot be recovered. That link is only for creating "Asides":

Aside – These are brief snippets of text that aren’t quite whole blog posts. Useful for quick thoughts and anecdotes http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/

Create posts only your own blog's dashboard > http://witchesofthecraft.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
Then you will be creating full posts and not asides. The full posts will have titles, can have categories assigned to them, the images will stop disappearing and the autosave feature will operate so your won't lose drafts.

For the last few days, I have not been able to post any comments at all in my blog. At first, I could post one but it would take 4 or 5 minutes to load. Then I could go to post and nothing, the little circle up in my tab just kept spinning and spinning. I had photos to disappear, links to disappear and the post page's writing would just disappear when I went to post it.

I tried today to post. I managed so far to get two post out. The first one when super fast as normal. I thought great, everything is fine. The second post, was pitiful. I had notices come up WordPress had quit working, problem with the site and on and on.

Could someone look into this and see if I can correct this problem or perhaps someone else could? I appreciate your help.

I always use the "add post" on my dashboard. I have been doing it exactly the same for over a year and never had a problem. I recently had some dsl modem issues and got a new one, but I don't see how that could affect my pictures, especially just on one post that I did twice, once published and once just saved. Unless I accidentally caused some setting change that is not obvious, which really doesn't make sense either, I can't figure out why it is just one post.

I've checked some similar questions and can't seem to find the answer to my problem. The post I did yesterday, that was images with captions, seemed fine until I hit publish. The images were visible for a split second and then disappeared. No frame, no anything. Just the captions left. The images are still in my media library, and they show up in my subscribers' email notifications. I tried starting a brand new post this morning, and they were visible in my dashboard until I hit save draft. Then they vanished, again with a brief flash of the images before they blinked out. I did another brief post with just two pictures, and when I hit publish, the pictures disappeared for a couple of minutes and then reappeared. They are still there. So far none of my other posts are having disappearing images. Just the one from yesterday, and the draft redo from today, as well as the briefly disappearing short post. I cleared my cache and cookies. Will do that again.

I apologize for the confusion. When I posted this question, the system auto-linked to the wrong blog and I didn't notice. The correct blog is hardrockinhomemaker.com (or hardrockhomemaker.com, which redirects to the first).

This is most often caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts.

Go to settings > writing and select "WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically" and then click "save changes."

Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding and then deleting a space, and then click "update post." Check your blog and if it is back to normal, you are golden. If not, open the next post and do the same thing till it goes back to normal.

Hi everyone. My blog is based off the Vigilance style sheet and I am working in Firefox. The widgets in my right sidebar have suddenly disappeared when I updated one of my posts. I tried reverting most of the CSS I changed back to the original, but that didn't help. (The updated post that seemed to trigger this was content-only, no CSS changes anyway.)

I know that WordPress has been experiencing bugs since last night, but I'm not sure this is related. Incidentally, the color of my titles all changed as well.

This is my first time posting a question, so if I need to provide additional information, please let me know! Thanks!

Thanks jenia.

Nearly forgot about this thread. I wasn't aware you're also removing strings in order to reuse them instead of adding new ones. I really like that idea. :D

Problem fixed. :)

Cheers

Hey, sorry about a late response and the frustration. Did you check the total number of strings, too? The total number of translatable strings is not static, strings are continuously added/removed/replaced as our team is working on the code.

There's also been some recent work to consolidate the strings a bit (make sure that an existing string/translation is reused, rather than re-added to increase the total number of translatable strings).

So the most likely explanation is that some older strings were removed (with their corresponding translations), that's why the total translated strings count is down. I filtered the project for recently rejected strings and that is not the cause of what you are observing.

I hope this helps - happy translating!
